works well for creating a 3D printer filament storage container with a rewinder
After I read up on how filament rewinders work in relation to doing multi color filament printing to prevent tangles, I started researching online and figured out which model I wanted to use from printables, it listed this specific container to use when building out the rewinder, as it allows you to put silica packets down inside under the filament to help keep it dry for long term storage.By doing this, you do not have to remove the filament from the machine and then seal it up in a Ziploc bag with silica packets.I have built four of the containers so far and had no problems with doing the modifications to drill holes for the mounting hardware for the rewinder and the outlet hole with capricorn tubing that runs to the printer.

The best dry food storage I have ever found
I really can’t say enough good things about these Rubber made canisters. They conserve space, have air tight lids , keeps food fresh. are easily cleaned, available in several sizes, reasonably priced . Food gets stale when left in the box it comes in. I never leave food in the original box . Over the years I have tried a lot of different storage containers. I was attracted to these because they are about 3 1/2 in wide and 12 in deep. The perfect size for cabinet shelves. I made little labels for them for easy identification. I also cut the instructions off the original container and taped it to the rubbermade containers. These are the best most useful storage containers I have ever seen. I bought my first set about 8 years ago. I still use them and have bought 4 or 5 more sets. I keep everything in them. I have also bought at least 10 other sets for gifts. They have helped me, a very unorganized person, to organize and maintain orginization.

UPDATED: Five stars for the container, zero stars for the labels that are impossible to remove
UPDATE: Upgrading review to five stars. I just purchased two more of these at the 'premium' trim line, and I am happy to say that their labels consisted of loose paper inserts that were inside of the container, nothing impossibly stuck to the outside. Also note that the 'premium' version has an upgraded lid, and it stands about 1/8" taller than the non-premium ones. That doesn't sound like much, but we specifically purchased these to fit into our cabinets, which they barely did, and with that additional height the premium ones now catch just a bit when taking them in or out. Not enough to ding them a star, but wanted other purchasers to know in case you were faced with similar tight storage requirements.Original review below:First, the good news. We needed cereal containers that would fit in the 10.5 inch tall cabinets in the pantry of our new house, and these fit *perfectly*. They're also generously proportioned and hold a *lot* of cereal, and are easy to use. On top of all that, the lids are interchangeable with other products in this line. Now, the bad news. The labels, which wrap around *two* sides of the container, are *impossible* to remove. I spent 20 minutes on the first one, scraping, scrubbing, soaking, and got about half-way. All three of the ones we purchased are now soaking in our utility sink in hot water and soap in hopes that it will make it possible to remove them.Rubbermaid makes and sells millions of these types of products, so they have to know exactly how hard these labels are to remove, and yet they continue to sell them anyway. Boo on them for using these unremovable labels for their own reasons (saving a penny, preventing label swap fraud, etc) and passing the inconvenience on to their customers. Boo, hiss. But yay on the actual containers. :)Update: to finally remove the labels and adhesive scum I had to use Goo Gone and stainless steel wool and just scrub the heck out of it. I ended up causing a small bit of scratching on the outside, but not a lot and it's not noticeable unless you know to look for it, so that's one small silver lining to the incredibly unnecessarily Herculean task of removing the labels from these things.

Love these!
Was happy to find as I have a very old set that I love and never thought I’d find the match to add more. The tops are even still red so my baking pantry looks very well organized with the addition of these new ones. I use them for flour, sugar, brown sugar, confectionary sugar, wheat flour, bread flour, etc. and will likely buy one more set as they hold up really well, no cracking, no yellowing after so many years of use.

Keeps flour fresh and insect-free
As a scratch baker, I keep several different kinds of flour in my pantry. These Rubbermaid canisters are excellent at keeping dry goods such as flour, sugar, or grains fresh and insect-free. They are very durable, easy to wash out and sanitize and are translucent, so you can see the product inside. The lids also offer good adherence for labels, if you are the kind of person to label all of your pantry items. The canisters fit nicely on a cabinet shelf, so you can store a lot of dry goods with a set of these. This particular canister was purchased to hold a 5 pound bag of whole wheat flour, which it does nicely. .

Best in the market for this type
These are extremely durable and tight fit. I tried some alternatives on amazon with the snap lids but my issue is the plastic hinge is not durable and the container tapers down. These do no taper down and you can have a space saving pantry with them lined up. Highly recommend, durable. Every person who cooks a lot should use these over the other type. These seal very very well.
