Great Sound and Picture! Obviously Amazing Show!
Obviously Twin Peaks is not for everyone (but it should be), so I'm not going to tell you you need to purchase this if you've never watched the show before. Its available on almost every streaming service, so you should definitely sample first before purchasing home media. It is Region Free so it should work on MOST Blu-ray players (try another region free Blu-ray on your player to make sure its good to play them). For fans of the show, this is a great collection as it adds the difficult to obtain film "Fire Walk With Me" and the even harder to obtain "Missing Pieces" cut from "Fire Walk With Me". The picture and audio quality is exceptional for all of it, especially the original series. The special features are not all that amazing but there is some really unique stuff.Original Series: Obviously this will forever be the highlight of the entire Twin Peaks franchise. The groundbreaking show that started it all looks and sounds amazing on these blu-rays. Its also fun to go back and watch the original "TV film" they made from the Pilot, in case the show didn't get picked up.Fire Walk With Me: One of those David Lynch works that is more fascinating than exceptional. It adds more questions than answers into the franchise (very Lynchian) but examines and uncovers Lynch's themes and views through scenes which expand on original series, without really driving it forward. It is critical for the understanding of the new Showtime Series, and is similarly dark and graphic. The Missing Pieces: To those who enjoy the quirky small town feel of the original series, as opposed to its dark metaphysical underbelly, the Missing Pieces is almost a superior film to "Fire Walk With Me". Composing almost an entire feature film's worth of deleted content, The Missing Pieces is enlightening, and a little refreshing after the total downer which is "Fire Walk With Me."Honestly, I purchased this because I already had a box set of the Showtime Series, and I needed to fill in all the other content. If you're really into "Peaks" and want it in its best quality and entirety up to the modern day, you could also get the Twin Peaks Z to A Blu-ray box set.

No-Frills Packaging Can't Diminish This Beautiful Release
First of all, my order arrived in two days, which is even more remarkable since I ordered late on Friday, and did not pay extra for expedited or Sunday delivery.Second of all, after reading some of the negative reviews, I decided to quick check to make sure all the disks loaded and that the episodes started up. They did, although I did have to reload disks 8 and 10 once each before they would read properly. My Blu-ray player is about ten years old, so this is not an entirely uncommon occurrence for me.All episodes started up, and ones I attempted to skip around the chapters with did so with few hiccups, although I did sometimes find the placement of the chapter breaks to be oddly in the middle of scenes. This doesn't really bother me, as I very rarely use chapter skips when watching things (although it's just dawning on me now that this will make skipping past the lame James Hurley subplot in season two more difficult when I get there).Thirdly, as mentioned in other reviews, this is a region-free European release of the box set. The packaging is different than what the U.S. received, which was arguably more impressive to interact with and display. Personally, I prefer this set's no-frills jewel case to the cardboard folders, no matter how pretty the artwork on them may be. I certainly don't think they're worth the mark-up you'll pay for the original region-one set.More importantly, it has all nine disks from the original region-1 Blu-ray, as well as all of its special features. You do have to select your language upon starting each disk, which might be considered an nuisance, but it's a minor one. At least there are no unskippable trailers! It's also a bummer that its missing the commentaries and Japanese coffee commercials from the the older DVD gold box release, but that's a fault of the Blu-ray release in general, not just the European version, as these features are not on the region-one set either.I will update this review if my opinion changes during my full proper viewing, but as it stands, this seems like a remarkable value for the Twin Peaks fan who wants to own all the classic episodes and Fire Walk With Me, just in case the big streaming sites ever choose to drop the program.
