Real peace of USA tradition
The first impression is very good. It’s not common to have such a long hammer. But I never had an USA made hammer before either. Very solid and well made.

Beauty and the Beast Rolled Into One Powerful Hammer.
Excellent Product. It is hard to believe that a basic tool, such as a hammer could be improved. We all have standard hammers and as part of a small kitchen tool kit, we have a couple of screw drivers and hammers from the dollar store. We are under going an extensive house remodeling and baring walls down to the studs. Pros: This hammer has a nice weight to it that it is hard to find in other brands. The side indention to remove nails is a must when working in tight spaces that don't allow the longer nail puller to be used. The grip is excellent. It allows for a firm grip when you need it most and cushions the blows to reduce stress to hand/joints. The flat head is exactly what we needed. (There is a version with the milled -indented- head) Magnetic nail started - Very useful. Solidly built in one piece. No welds or joints. Sears price is over $100 and Amazon has it for less than half the price. Home Depot price is comparable (as of this writing) to Amazon, but it is not always in stock or it may not be the 19 ounce version (as we found out). Cons: I only list the cons here that some people may find these important. We don't because the product does what we need it to do. * The price may be too steep for someone who occasionally drives a nail through the wall. * The color is black, not blue as described on Amazon's website.

Great hammer
Feels great in my hand and hits pretty good. Wouldn’t use it for heavy framing but pretty much anything else it works great for. I do lots of Reno’s and finish work and it’s served me well for the past few months. It lives in my belt full time now.

Estwing means durable
I'm a big fan of the Estwing hammers. This is in the new style of full-size, lighter weight hammers that are all the rage now. After using a classic (blue) all steel Estwing for years, this style takes a bit of getting used to. For framing and banging studs together its great. Grip is what I'd expect for an Estwing and it is my preferred hammer grip. The side puller and nail set are surprisingly effective and useful. The only downside is the shorter distance from shank to face. This comes into play on sheets or siding where my knuckles are nearly touching the work at impact. I don't think there is risk of injury, it just feels a little weird swinging a hammer that way. On those type of tasks, I go back to the classic Estwing.

Perfect tool for a tough job here in Phoenix laying underlayment - a steep roof makes for difficult arm swing with accuracy
One very fine tool. I needed a hammer for cap nails on a 5 in 12 pitch roof laying underlayment the plastic and metal caps work and meet mfr. requirements - I was using a HD smooth head and 9 times out of 10 the nail was either bent or went flying - had to hit it perfect to drive the ring shank nails. I have used milled head hammers before but over years of use they wear down - I was fed up with the problem and ordered the best name and the milled face hammer- I like a lighter weight the 15 oz and milled face made all the difference. I was able to drive those cap nails in with ease. That milled face may wear but the time and labor more then makes up for this. I found that hitting the cap a little off center made no difference job done THANKS

Sold me a used hammer. Paint missing. Chipped on all sides. Spots of rust. This was a return sold as new.

Vale a pena.
