Great for fume extraction
This blower does a great job. I use it for fume extraction while laser engraving, and it's perfect for this task. It's pretty quiet and moves a lot of air. The speed adjustment controller is a great touch. Set up was super quick and easy, you just plug the fan into the controller and plug the controller into an outlet. I've run this continuously for hours and it's never gotten warm to the touch which was an issue I've had with other fans. I'm a happy customer.

Great product
Powerful and cheap couldn’t get any better than that!

Moves a ton of air for my laser engraver. Not too loud even on high!
The media could not be loaded. I am using this with a laser engraver so I can vent the fumes from wood/plastic outside to protect myself if I'm in the same room while it's on. The knob gives you a progressive speed control, so you can adjust it as much or as little as you want. I typically use it on medium unless I am doing plastics, in which case I do high just to be on the safe side. On low, there is enough air extraction that I no longer smell even a hint of wood smoke with my puny 10w laser going on high. I still run it on medium just to be safe though! On low and medium, I don't even notice the noise over the noise of my laser engraver. For Low, you get around 36.5 DB at 1 foot away. For Medium, it's around 38db at 1 foot, and on high it stabilizes at 46 db (there's a spike to around 55 db while the fan ramps up. The click of the switch turning the fan on and off is almost as loud as the fan itself on high. I will be buying a second of these for another fume extraction system I am building in another room. A+ item, I did not expect something this cheap to actually work this well and be this quiet.

Quiet, economical to operate, great air flow . NOT RELIABLE need to reboot control frequently.
I am a retired hvac professional. I purchased this (6” electronically commutated or “EC” motor) product because of the price point and the included controls. My application is a in line booster fan in a residential supply duct. The good. The fan is quiet and moves an impressive amount of air. It was very easy to install the included controller and sensor. Duct installation required extra sealing gasket as the actual OD of the fan inlet/outlet is more like 5&5/8”.Set up and programming is easy and intuitive. Despite the poor explanation and instruction. One thing to know is that the fan “ON” setting that ranges from 1 to 10 is actually a high limit point for AUTO mode. I really like this because instead of going to full speed on auto every time it runs heat or cool at around 400cfm (that's 1 ton of cooling)you can limit the airflow to a more reasonable amount for a residential floor register.Mounting the sensor in the duct before the fan and setting heat to 85f and cool to 65f controls the fan automatically for heat and cool to your predetermined “Fan On speed” And with the app you can override or adjust as needed. You can start and stop based on humidity as well that would enable you to indirectly control a humidifier as well for the space served.THE BAD.I Fan quits working randomly sometimes three or four times a day sometimes once a week. The controler display shows the fan ramping up but the fan does not run. Amazon did provide replacement which was good. However, replacement did the same thing. I verified that the unit was properly grounded and checked for radio frequency interference, but alas, the problem persists. My solution was to install a smart switch, a time clock, program a duty cycle so that the power is interrupted at the Supply cord periodically throughout the day, unplugging the unit and rebooting it.

Great fan...terrible speed controller
Had to knock off two stars because the speed controller did not work and is of poor quality. I took it apart, found nothing wrong, put it back together and it started working. There are no labels or specifications anywhere on the controller. I can't say it's unsafe to use, but without any certification or specifications I choose to not take a chance. The upside is the fan itself is great. Moves a lot of air, uses very little power and is not loud in my opinion.

Works just as advertised! Quiet. Almost silent at fan speeds less than 1/2 max.
Simple to get basic set up up and running.Instructions (in the "English" section anyway) are clear andapparently written by someone who reads and writes Englishvery well. The only trouble is the User Manual they includein the box is TINY. The print font is SO small it's unreadableunless you have 20/15 vision and an excellent light source. And just to make it MORE difficult, the link on the Amazonproduct page points to the WRONG user manual.I emailed Tech Support about this and within the hour they had sentme a response with the correct PDF file User Manual attached.BUT I just checked and the link on the product page is still wrong.

Used to exhaust and filter air from laser enclosure. Very pleased!
I used this device in a manner it may not have been intended for. I connected the hose to my laser engravers enclosure and to the in line fan unit. Then I connected the fan to the filter. The fan pulls air, smoke, and fumes from the enclosure and into the filter. I'm very pleased with the results! This fan itself is very quiet and operates easily with the included control panel and the app. I can hardly even hear it rubbing! The filter is very well made and surprisingly large. In terms of filters, bigger is definitely better! For fellow laser users, I think this unit is fine for diode lasers. I tend to get some smoke through the filter when heavily engraving wood but none for any other materials. I left the fan unit that came with my enclosure in place and run it simultaneously. I also created a small opening in the one corner of the enclosure so the unit can pull air through/avoid creating a vacuum.
