Big hit
I got.2 of these for both households of my grandkids. Huge hit. Even if the kids are too young to play the actual game, they love making the little guys and squishing them.

Fun
Smashing the pieces is super fun. Not too long of a game either and you can customize your grapes haha.

Not as good as the 1992 version by Parker Brothers, but still a fun game!
The Hasbro version of Grape Escape is a fun game, but is not as good as the 1992 Parker Brothers version. The two games are similar in theme. You create a grape figure from play doh placed in a mold. Then you try to walk your figure around the gameboard without getting squished in various ways. The 1992 version had a central mechanism, hand powered with a crank and rubber bands, which is really cool and all four of the squishing stations move at the same time. Thus you can get scissored in half, or stomped by the boot, or sawn in half, or rolled into jam. The mechanism has a crank which turns and all those things happen at the same time. Really cool. The new version has four different squishing places. Each operates separately, and they are still kind of silly and fun.In the 1992 version, the single six-sided die has a grape leap (where you move one square ahead of the leader, a CRANK, and then four numbers. The CRANK means you operate the mechanism and whoever is in it gets squished. That means that depending on where the figures are, you might squish nobody, or maybe four people. The new version does not use a special die, but instead, has symbols on the map which indicate that what you do. If you land on the squishing place, you automatically get to squish yourself. If you land on one of the special spots, you can squish an opponent.Similar concepts, but different roles of playing. The new game components are adequate, but not as high quality as the 1992 version. Both games are fun and unique. If you like the original and think this is a replacement, it is not.But this new version is a fun game, and it is afforable and of higher quality than some of the other remakes of vintage kids' games. My grade for the new game is a B+.
