Problems and Solutions to Accompany McQuarrie's Quantum Chemistry 2nd Edition

If you are taking physical/quantum chemistry and use Mcquarrie's book, this is a must-have. After buying so many solutions manuals, its nice when they come with ALL of the answers, and not just "selected" answers or odd/even answers.Additionally, this book tends to show ALL of the steps (at least assuming you have at least a minimal level of competence) required to solve the problems, and includes clearly worded explanations when required.Though a class in physical/quantum chemistry may only be a 1-star (if you're not planning on continuing into it for specialization), this solutions manual definitely deserves 5-stars.

Quantum chemistry is hard, so it is very useful to have this book!I only rented this book because I originally purchased a cheap, old version of Mcquarrie's Quantum Chem textbook, but then my professor ended up assigning homework problems from the new edition that he had actually instructed us to buy (drats!). So I decided to rent the solution manual and keep the old version of the textbook, and still came out way ahead money-wise.My only complaint is that the problem is never clearly stated in the solution manual, so without the corresponding textbook, I never quite know what I am supposed to be answering when I'm doing my homework.

This book is really helpful and really great for studying! I purchased it and have been using it ever since.

This book is handy when you have tons of homework to finish in a small amount of time, and you just want to get the answers down and learn the material later. I know, not the best way to study, but everyone's different.I don't recommend this book for studying, only for getting the final answer. The explanation of the answers is hit or miss. Some will tell you most steps of the process, but the majority of them skip several steps and don't tell you how they arrived at their result. It's frustrating because McQuarrie's text is difficult to understand sometimes and I wish I'd had a second explanation of the material.

This book is a wonderful tool to improve the learning of quantum chemistry. There are several interesting discussions and helpful chapters dealing with math concepts.

It is a very useful book to beginners learning Quantum Chemistry.

Detailed, answers every question in at the end of each chapter. Very helpful. I did not give it five starts because it there are some questions that leave unanswered questions. But for the most part this is a great study helper.
