Madonna: Rebel Heart Tour

Great Tour.....wish it wasn't so heavily edited.
I love Madonna. I really LOVE Madonna. However, since the MDNA tour, I have found her DVD tour releases to be edited beyond comprehension. I miss the days of the Confession DVD tour...straight up. Don't get me wrong, the print is gorgeous and love the artistic shots. However, it's way too stylized and find myself missing lots of the action. The crowd shots are spliced and diced too. Too edited for my taste and made me continue to watch the tour clips on YouTube instead. I think Rebel Heart was one of Madonna's best tours. I just wish the long-awaited DVD release was similar to the Confessions DVD...in which I think I worn out the DVD!

Over Produced
I love Madonna. I think she is the greatest entertainer alive today. However this DVD is an overproduced mess. The show itself is brilliant just like every show she's ever done, but the fast cuts and editing are too much. And why in the world did she leave off Love Don't Live Here Anymore? That's a little crazy because she has never performed that song on tour before. Next time just point a camera at the stage and press record. It would be better than this.

As a huge fan of Madonna's - especially her live performances - it's sad to see this horribly-editted debacle
This DVD is AWFUL. As a huge fan of Madonna's - especially her live performances - it's sad to see this horribly-editted debacle. It presents like a frenetic commercial - changing frames and views rapidly, making it impossible to look at this as a live performance because the camera doesn't stay on the same shot for more than one or two seconds. I'm not exaggerating. It is obviously not filmed during a single performance because her costume often changes in the middle of a song. I know it's hard for a beautiful superstar to age but making the audience dizzy with distracting editing that doesn't allow the camera to stay on the actual performer is unfair to the audience. I watch all of Madonna's other concert DVDs repeatedly but once was enough for this disaster. Multiple thumbs-down...and middle finger up.

But this was a huge disappointment on BLU-RAY
I can't believe I'm giving this one star!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am her biggest fan, since 1983. But this was a huge disappointment on BLU-RAY! Every 3 seconds the film pans from Madonna to the crowd to the video monitors, to the dancers. This like watching a 2 hour trailer for the release. We barely get a chance to see Madonna perform in close-ups or her dancing because it changes all the time. AWFUL EDITING-MADONNA STAY AWAY FROM THE EDITING ROOM. You ruined tis release. My eyes hurt from the special effects, lights, fast camera. The concert in person was amazing. She puts on a fantastic show. Too bad she ruined this with over editing. No LOVE DON'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE, Tears of a Clown is only 15 long and in B/W. This is only for true Madonna collectors like myself, but I don't see myself watching this again anytime soon. I bought this on Amazon, video and audio quality is great though. Too bad my 2 fave moments were ruined..TRUE BLUE and Deeper and Deeper with the dancers taking up all the room and not enough Madonna close-up singing.

Rebel Heart Tour
I didn't see this tour, but I remember watching videos from it online and I enjoyed the songs. So I pre-ordered this CD set and got it this morning. I'm not a huge fan of live recordings, but there are some that I enjoy very much. This is a great show, and the sound quality is excellent on most of it. I like the arrangements of most of the songs, too. Burning Up has some awesome guitar in it. My favorites:Iconic, Burning Up, Body Shop, Deeper and Deeper, HeartBreak City, True Blue, Rebel Heart, Material Girl, and Holiday. If you like live recordings/shows, I recommend it.

Doesn’t really get interesting until the music gets better halfway through (same with the MDNA Tour)
Doesn’t really get interesting until the music gets better halfway through (same with the MDNA Tour). Her new songs from the last three albums are hit and miss-mostly miss. Candy Shop should have been a single, it was a missed opportunity back in the day, but she does seem to reinvent it in her last three concerts to devastating effect. It’s not until Deeper And Deeper comes on that I become interested. I like hearing her relax and “sing” in different styles, that’s when she really shines, and it’s a shame Tears Of A Clown isn’t here in it’s entirety. Her last masterpiece concert tour was from her last masterpiece album-Confessions On A Dancefloor, where class and sophistication truly set Madonna apart from any other pop artist of her caliber. She must always move forward, but I have been finding myself less willing to go along on the ride.

Silly Girl!
I must admit I liked the MDMA live show on DVD better than this one. This has no behind the scenes as that one does. You have to take the entire show, not just her new material. Her take on some of her older material is very telling here. The guitars on Burning Up is Killa. She is a constant work in progress and it really evolves. The shots of the crowd in the audience show they seem to know and they are really into it.

Great show, but this release could have been much better.
Let’s start with the positives. The blu-ray picture and sound quality are amazing this time, clear and consistent. The editing maybe over the top but it’s still watchable in most parts on a large television screen, and even though her voice is way too polished or layered with backing tracks on most songs, this isn't quite as bad as what they did to the Sticky and Sweet Tour release. And we have a decent cover at last, which isn’t a shot of a video screen or one of her selfie’s.The show on the whole is great to watch, it’s just a huge disappointment that they have decided to cut out parts of the show which was filmed during the last two shows in Sydney in March 2016. No Love Don’t Live Here Anymore, no Lucky Star, no Take A Bow, and Like A Prayer has been included as a bonus performance. It’s like she’s trying to remove the heart from the Rebel Heart Tour. The original set list usually included Who’s That Girl and Ghosttown. These would have made fantastic bonus performances but they have also been cruelly ignored.Instead we get a very out of place two-minute documentary about Detroit thrown in between Dress You Up and Rebel Heart, which completely kills the flow of the performance, and a 15 minute excerpt from her Tears Of A Clown show filmed in Melbourne. This does include Don’t Tell Me and Borderline though which are nice performances. This could have been a five star review, but I’m leaving one off for not releasing the full show, and another for going over the top again with the special effects and making it sound like she mimed most of the show with the fake vocals.

A spectacular show!
Great memento of a great concert. I saw the show in London. It was a magnificent show; full of colour, great performances and great tracks. The show incl. many golden oldies, as well as promoting Madonna's last album. I first saw her live in 1990; how she manages to still be innovative on stage 27 years later is amazing.

Fantastic tour, as usual, sub par dvd release
5 stars for the show, less for the dvd itself, overly edited, jump cut mess really, sound has been edited too so her fantastic live vocals are over produced and indistinguishable from the backing track sadly. The 'extras' are as usual for Madonna, pitiful. Absolutely no idea what they were working on since the Showtime airing, as this is almost identical.

Spectacular Show
Amazing, Brilliant, Spectacular!!! I saw Fabulous Madonna (Rebel Heart Tour) in Birmingham and have been anticipating eagerly release of the DVD. I relived the concert and could see more detail. Madonna gives it her all and the woman is unbelievably talented, in many ways. I admire her creativity greatly in song writing, dance and fashion. No one can touch her, she is the greatest live performer.
