Destined to be a classic on creativity
I first saw this book as a post on LinkedIn, shared by a famous designer, who worked with Rick Rubin on the design of the book. As a designer it caught my attention and I was intrigued after recently listening to Rick Rubin on Desert Island Discs. I bought the book and also downloaded it on Audible.A lot of the content resonates and it’s been an inspirational experience. Very easy to read and understand, and so many gems that now I’ve finished it I’m going to read it all over again, and again to make sure it sticks.

Beautifully designed book - content inspiring
Great book content for any type of creative pro and student. Book design by Pentagram design team - beautiful and understated. I got the Audible version too as this topic I wanted to read as I listened as I am a visual learner.

Not what I expected but better!
I was expecting an insight into Rick Rubin’s writing / production processes but this book is in fact an overview of creativity itself and provides incredibly clever and insightful ways of thinking about the process and helping you to find your best creative self.I rate this book highly! The only issue being that it inspires me so much I usually end up putting it down to create something myself so still haven’t got all the way through yet.

Great read for all artists
This is a must read for all artists, amateur and professional. I’d probably recommend reading as opposed to the audio book, simply because there’s lot of good points to take note of.

Exactly what we need right now! 100/100 A*!
This is exactly what this generation of people going through new strange times needs! With Covid, or just general change in their life, or feel like they want to change for that matter! It has opened my mind up to new ways of perceiving and thinking, creating a completely new outlook on life for me. Refreshing! I will continously be looking back through the pages to remind me the creative act in the years to come! I can't wait! 📖🌅 Although it didn't bother me, my front cover did have a blemished print.

Thoughtful.
This is a thoughtful and considerately written book.I choose to read it briefly in the morning as its 400:pages could be read nearly one and a bit pages each day, if you do choose. While not I don't play music these terse wise pieces are encouraging, similarly to how the tao de jing might be to some, and unexpectedly comforting. Also very considerate are the lined note making pages in the back, so any inspired thoughts can be jotted down.
