My monitor died. Intermittent display but not usable.Fortunately I had an old vga monitor laying around. The computer has a hdmi port for a monitor. This device attached securely to the vga port on the monitor and had a firm fit into the hdmi port on the computer. Turned on the computer. Monitor came to life quickly. Plug and play. Nothing more to do. Also, the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended device.

Hooked adapter to the VGA port on the monitor, plugged other end into the HDMI port of the laptop, and the screen on the external monitor turned on. Worked perfectly; plug and play; no installing of driver required. Worked with Windows 11. Can't ask for any more than that.

Hey it’s an adapter. It does exactly what it is intended to do. No issues with noise or anything else. Seems solidly constructed and I expect it will serve its purpose for a long time.

I hate adapters like this. They are hit and miss. But I needed to use an older monitor with a newer machine and the monitor didn't have HDMI. So, i tried this one out and it worked perfectly on the first try. I have since upgrade the monitor so I don't need it anymore but it is still connected to the monitor in case I pull it out again.

This adapter works great

Works great. Have an older VGA only monitor that's super compact that I use with Crash Cart. Monitor is nothing fancy but works fine and love the size of it so didn't want to give it up for how it's used. But more and more systems don't have VGA plug so picked this up and worked perfectly. Plugged into new nvidia card, and connected to old low-res vga monitor perfectly.

I bought eight of these to connect several Mac Mini's to VGA capable monitor via a KVM switch. I got everything hooked up, but lo and behold, the monitors didn't work... they were reporting no signal. I tried connecting the Macs directly to the monitor via an HDMI cable and it worked, so the Mac was outputting a signal. I thought maybe the KVM switch was the issue, so I connected the Mac to the VGA port on the monitor via the adapter, but again, no signal. I next thought the VGA cable might be the issue, so I tried another, and still no luck. Finally, I tried a different monitor, thinking maybe the VGA port on the monitor was bad, but no luck with the new monitor. My final conclusion is that none of the 8 adapters I purchased work. The specs say they are unidirectional (HDMI to VGA), but that is the mode in which I am trying to use them... HDMI from the computer to VGA on the monitor. If I hadn't waited so long to test these, I'd return them in a heartbeat.Update: I have changed my rating to 5 stars because Moread has gone out of their way to correct the issue. They sent me a sample of a different adapter, which worked as I thought the original adapters should, so then they replaced all 8 of the adapters with the model that worked. I was very surprised, but have to commend Moread on their customer service. Thank you for making this right!
