First impressions: the device feels robust and comes with a carry case, cleaning cloth and USB cable (C-to-C with an inline C-to-A adaptor) for connecting it to a laptop. So far I've I tested it with an Android phone; the software is on the Play store and it detects the device with no trouble. It lets you capture still images and videos, tweak the colour gradient and sharpness, overlay an image from the phone's camera, and has a feature for recording the max/min temperature over a period of time. I haven't run into any issues so far; will update this if I do. Out of curiosity I plugged it into a laptop without the software installed - it seems to present as a USB camera showing the thermal image with a black-and-white gradient. Obviously this lacks the calibration and extra functionality of the app but was interesting nonetheless!

Out of the package, this is an impressive bit of kit. It looks well made and the case provides good protection for the lens. I bought it to help me check the performance of my underfloor heating. Connection to my iPad mini was easy and I then spent a couple of hours trying to get to grips with the many different functions and settings. I found it difficult to focus the camera to obtain a clear picture of the loops. I could see the temperature readings clearly but the individual loops did not stand out sufficiently for me to gauge whether there were any sections suffering poor flow. It works quite well when looking for cold spots in the ceiling and differentiating hot and cold pipes near my gas boiler. Although I have only owned the camera since late November, I have since learned that the company now sells a version with adjustable focus on the lens which YouTube video suggests is a big improvement in quality of image.

Only used this for a couple of days now but it's already proven itself (electronics work). It's helped me to identify electronics getting hot and also where a dead short on the circuit board was. Picture good, but obviously not amazing since these devices are a low pixel count, though this one is in the higher end of the affordability scale. Worked seamlessly on win11 laptop. App easy to download and install. App a little simple, no ability to capture a view, for example, but "print screen" button will do. Would be nice to record a session (video). But it worked without issue. I did find it a little difficult to get the orientation correct, couldn't figure out which way was 'up', I guess it's oriented for being fitted to a landscape mobile phone?

I'm very impressed with this little attachment. Quick and easy to get up and running with it (just install the app from the Play Store, and connect it straight to the phone). Been using it to scan the house and finding areas that are clearly lacking in insulation. Areas I've had my suspicion of previously but could never be sure about - stands out a mile when viewing the infrared feed this camera provides. Being able to tap on the screen to get a spot temperature reading from a specific areas (and multiple areas at the same time for comparison) is really useful. I'm planning to take it up the loft and find areas where the insulation has gaps; should see the heat escaping from the house lighting up in these areas. Not sure how to fix some of the other problems I can clearly see now, but it's pretty exciting to be able to view the heat signature around the house. Very impressed with the resolution and quality of this camera. Punching above its weight vs similar priced cameras from other companies.

The sensitivity of this is incredible. You can see the mortar lines between blocks in the wall, the joists behind plasterboard, where pipes run under the floor (or above the ceiling) and so on. Gives a high resolution picture with the coolest and warmest spots highlighted; you can add more "spots" to be monitored too. Will be very useful around the home for checking "heat leaks", for electronics trouble diagnostics or checking the terminals of high current loads are properly tightened (i.e. not hot). Or you could just use it for walking in the dark :-) or perhaps developing a heat-seeking robot project...

Very simple to set up, solidly built and works well, perfect for checking out my battery and inverter cables for hot spots. The only very slightly negative point is I can't plug it into my phone with the thick protective case I have. So I've used self adhesive velcro tape to be able to attach it to the back of the case when needed, and used the supplied cable to plug it in.

Bought this, it worked sporadically, thought it might be due to an issue with the usb port on my phone so didn't report it. Got a new phone, it still doesn't work, tried on a friend's phone, doesn't work. I complained on Amazon, no reply. AVOID AVOID AVOID
