Great resource
I have not seen CBT and DBT integrated before so I was curious. I use both in my practice and this book is an amazing resource for myself and patients.

OCD helpful tool
This was recommended by my therapist to help with my OCD. It has a great combo of ERP, CBD, and other skills and can be applied to a variety of diagnosis. It’s explained in a way that’s easy to understand and the workbook parts really help you understand your mind

Great book covering important information
This book is wonderful. Often, books on treating OCD and related disorders talk about the importantance of 'sitting with the discomfort'. This vague, abstract concept makes sense in theory, but often leaves clients feeling helpless during exposure work or in difficult situations.Hershfield and Aguirre do an excellent job of framing exposure work and DBT in a lens that blends the two a clear, concise way. Practical strategies and uses of coping (rather than compulsions), effective uses of cognitive work, mindfulness and acceptane-oriented work, and helpful exercises are laid out in an intuitive and easy-to-understand matter.I highly reccomend this book for anyone who finds that the exposure work is too difficult to approach, and any therapist who treats patients with anxiety disorders.

Great for learning about OCD plus big emotions
The book does a great job giving explanations and examples of both ERP and DBT, and then beginning to combine them. This adds an important layer of compassion to ERP, which is sometimes missed by less well trained therapists.Working with DBT and ERP together is such a great idea, and that was what was most helpful for me in therapy the past few years. Though for me the book was mostly review, I think it will help people who are new to either DBT, ERP, both, or combining the two. Both Jon and Blaise are experts in the field, not to mention just nice people. I recommend this for anyone wanting to learn more about OCD + big emotions.

Excellent Integration of CBT & DBT
This workbook provides a clear overview of workable skills that can be easily integrated into the therapeutic process or self-led learning. As a clinician inexperienced in DBT, I completed the workbook with immediate skills that may aid my clients in addressing emotional overwhelm that can become a barrier to engaging in ERP. Very well written with an easy-to-use format. Highly recommend!

Not impressed
I was underwhelmed. It's not groundbreaking info. I don't enjoy the stupid assumptions the book makes either. There was a lot of bad humor.
