Incredible resource for the next generation
I bought this for my son. I gave it to him during a rite of passage ceremony I had come up with from another book; Raising a Modern Day Knight. An incredible resource to help him along his journey.

Good book. Very candid advice.
I read this book when I was about 20 years old, which may have been a couple of years later than I needed to. In any case, I found a lot of good thoughts and very candid advice that if heeded can help to point in the right direction and hopefully guard against some pitfalls that can truly affect the rest of your life. Dr. Dobson does not beat around the bush though or sugar coat what he's trying to say. He is speaking very clearly and candidly, which I feel is the best approach for the subject matter. We bought two copies of this book for each of our older nieces as gifts. Maybe they'll read them and maybe they won't. This book was an inspiration to me when I was their age, so I figured now they at least have the opportunity.

A Must Read/One of the 10 most valuable books I've ever read
I first read this as a senior in high school. Without a doubt, it shaped my college experience, my career choice (I've been in the medical field for over 35 years) and how I have approached my life. I have had multiple challenges (including being on disability for the last 10 years due to being seriously injured by a drunk driver); I would never have overcome them as well as I have without heavenly intervention and the guidance found in this book. A must read for anyone, but especially for teens/college students and young adults.

life changing
This book was amazing. It hit home on every subject and really shows you a realistic view of God's desire and plan for us, not some sugar coated tale. I am going through a lot right now, and this really helped me "re-focus". I highly suggest it for teens especially. Great book!

Moral guide for young adults
I purchased 2 of these to give as gifts to my teen-aged granddaughters, after purusing them in my dentist's office. They appear to be a moral guideline for teens and young adults. Dobson is well known for his "Christian" approach to living and since they are both currently into "church" I hoped it would be a good reference book for now and especially later.

Great for Graduates!
This book is a great for teens at the in-between stage of graduation from high school and beginning college. It's "straight-up" talk from Dr. Dobson that covers many current issues today's teen experiences. I use this book as a senior gift each year, knowing that the frank conversation and examples used by Dr. Dobson will get the reader's attention and help put the information into usable form.

must read for all 16-26 yr olds.
I'm nearly done reading this book, and although I'm well past my teen/young adult years, there are numerous things that are helpful or for anyone at any age. It is easy to read, conversational at times, and contains many stories and examples that make it interesting and read fast. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants help navigating the treacherous waters of life and I would consider it "required reading" for the target audience of 16-26 year olds.

Guidance to Adolescents
This book is great and it truly shows the meaning and purpose why we face hardships during our younger years. This critical decade is the one that defines and shapes what our future will look like!
