Sweet Little Skillets
I think It's been over a year since I purchased my first Lodge pan -(8')and I thought it was about time I bought another, or three in this instance. I purchased these cast iron skillets for the sole purpose of how pretty they look in photographs and how good they would look on my food blog, plus I'm a sucker for a Lodge pan. Although, I knew these would be small, I wasn't fully aware how small 3.5 inches actually was, until I opened my package this morning. They are tiny and I was in two minds whether to send them back, but I'm impatient and really wanted to make single serve cookies for my blog today. So, I went ahead and used them anyway. The cast iron pans are of usual Lodge standard, they are pre-seasoned so it saves the user, the trouble of having to do it themselves - which can be a fuss. One pan arrived with a dent on the lip and slightly rusted, but nothing a bit of coconut oil didn't solve when baking my skillet cookies. Even though these are minute, I'm happy with them, they served their purpose and I fell in love with them. And, as my skillet cookie isn't yet perfect, I know these pans are going to get some decent use. However, I am slightly disappointed that I didn't fork out the extra cash for the 5' Lodge pan, but me being me, I would probably need 3 just to take a decent photo and they are just too expensive, which is a plus for these pans as they are so cheap. As for delivery, I ordered these yesterday evening and they arrived this morning with the postman; you can't ask for better service than that.Overall, I'm now going to be happy with my photographs, when these little beauties are centre focus, but they aren't very useful for much else other than single serve cookies, or brownies.I've provided photos, which I quickly snapped earlie, so you can be fully aware of how small these really are - mine measured 3.5' exactly.

A tiny bit awkward on gas hobs
These are nicely made skillets, and they are as small as advertised although once actually seeing them they felt smaller than i would expect.i imagine these would work great on an electric or induction hob, but one with grill grates it's a bit awkward as they are so small they tilt/fall through the grates with a slight movement

Small but great for roasting small quantities of spices.
It is as others have said very small, the internal diameter is about 3 inches so a bit small for an egg perhaps but fine for roasting spices etc. The 5 inch version would be better for a single egg. It works fine on my induction hob as long as you use the smallest pan section and position it centrally. The handle does get very hot.

Small but mighty!
Bought a couple of these this TINY (will fit in the palm of your hand) pans to bake skillet cookies in the air fryer. Just right for what I wanted.Take note, these won’t work on an induction hob, they’re too small to be detected. Know what you’re buying! 😂😂😂*Banana in pic for scale.

useless.
It's tiny, eggs stick like crazy and a hint of water made it rust.Pretty pointless object, binned it within 2 days.

Mini Skillet is Garbage
I was looking for a single egg pan that was heavy and thought this would do the trick. However the pan is too deep for a single egg, and even with a ton of cooking spray it stuck horribly. After washing it off with plans of giving it a second attempt, after a single day on the drying rack it had rusted! Two stars because perhaps I just don’t understand how to use a cast iron pan. Or maybe this is just a poor choice for eggs but it shouldn’t be this hard. 👎

It turns out that the main ring I use on my induction hob may have it's magnets (or whatever they are) too far spaced out for the pan to get any heat. So I tried it on a smaller ring and it worked just fine.So I've changed from a 1 star to 5. I can't think of a reason to drop any stars as it does exactly what I bought it for - frying an egg!

I may have misjudged this :(
I was looking for a small cast iron pan to do eggs/omelettes in, but I think this may be too small even for that. I definitely had it bigger in my head when I ordered it! I suppose I could do a fried egg, but just about.I can’t fault it for what it is, a good tiny pan, but it’s too tiny for what I thought itbwas
