Q: Why is the delivery period so long?

I didn t wait too long but have one sent me every 3 months

Q: Nhs recommends daily dose of vitamin d of 10mcg (micrograms). how many mcg does each softgel contain?

25mcg. It's 1000UI. It is what the GP recommended I take after 7 weeks of taking a prescription loading dosage of 50000UI. I was severely deficient. If you've not been diagnosed as deficient maybe you might need a different dosage.

Q: Suitable for vegetarian

It is NOT suitable for vegetarians. I have written to Vitabiotics but they refuse to reply! Most vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) derives from lanolin - a fat extracted from sheep’s wool. The box and website - www.Ultravits.com - states it is vegetarian but not the source! This makes me highly suspicious considering that under current legislation they are obliged to tell us in case of an allergy! A true vegetarian source of vitamin D3 is from lichen, which are algae and fungi. It is strictly not a plant. Vitamin D3 from lichen is more expensive. Another reason to suspect the source of the cheaper Vitabiotics D3.
