Cinema 50
The Cinema 50 is a is a wonderful AV Receiver. Easy to set up and sounds great with plenty of connectivity and listening options. Very fast shipping from ListenUp. My second Marantz from them. Very happy with the purchase both times.

My first Marantz: No chance it's my last Marantz
This amp is awesome and frankly, I'm relieved. I was beginning to doubt the ability of anyone to produced a quality audio product anymore. My previous amp was a 5.1 110W channel system but ultimately a frustrating experience because everything sort of half worked. The 5.1 was a hot mess, and the second zone could only be used with an analogue source like the Tuner. if I wanted to listen to digital music source like Spotify or iTunes in my zone 2, I had to use a separate A/D converter. The menu system was garbage and if you lost the remote it was a PITA to turn on zone 2 because the display didn't really show you the navigation. OK, why do I care so much about zone 2?Well for someone who cares about both MOVIES and MUSIC, throwing a party with sound piping into the kitchen ( my designated zone 2) is awesome, and now I can listen to 2 separate things in each zone regardless of whether I'm using the CD transport, the tuner, vinyl or digital music from HDs on my local network. Long story short, there are no caveats here, the Marantz just works. The menus are easy to navigate and intuitive. The physical buttons on the front mean I don't need to find the remote or turn on the TV to navigate the menus. It may be minimal but it gives you the basics which is all we really care about when we want to listen to something. The Marantz performs that central function more than admirably - it sounds great. It can get pretty hot but it looks and sounds cool. I totally recommend this.

Cinema 50. Go for it!
Watched multiple YouTube videos and procrastinated somewhat, pleased I made the decision to go with the Cinema 50. If you are looking for a home theater experience with exceptional sound quality this is it! I have KEF R3’s with a SVS subwoofer and Klispch ceiling speakers. The sound is outstanding for both music and home theater. Don’t hesitate to get the Cinema 50, truly impressive and the plus, the design of the Cinema 50 looks super cool! Just do it!

Great for vinyl. Problems encountered with ARC and over the air antenna broadcast.
I switched from Onkyo and it's not living up to the hype. For starters, it was a pain to set up. NOT for the faint of heart. Most of the functionality required me to use the app. I'm guessing the app is a ticking time bomb. I expect the receiver to be a $2500 brick in a few years. So, buyer beware. Does it sound better than my decade plus aged Onkyo? A little. Vinyl--I have to say it does sound warmer. But, that's where the love ends. Everything else is about the same or perhaps slightly worse. My old receiver was apparently faking the center channel feed. With this receiver, my TV doesn't send center channel info, so I'm getting 2.0 instead of L/C/R when watching TV from over the air antenna. Old receiver "faking the center feed" did so remarkably well. This is a huge downgrade in my opinion. When it turns into a brick I will fully regret this purchase. I hope that day is at least a decade away.

Straight forward simple remote.
My Marantz Cinema 50 was easily set up (at least as far as multi-channel receivers are these days) including the lengthy but thorough Audyssey calibration. Favourite surround discs played with improved detail. I have a projector/monitor arrangement which makes it easy to leave the monitor on and follow directions. I know this may be a drawback for some as the main display is pared back to almost nothing. I found the remote very clear and easy to use. I was also impressed with FM reception. I think the Audyssey room correction is more than adequate. I don't think I'll adapt the Dirac option.

Fantastic sound
This was a BIG upgrade from an onkyo tx-nr656, no surprise given the quality and price difference, but it’s always good to get what you pay for. My 10 year old speakers (definitive tech pro monitor 800/1000s) sound much fuller than before. Going to slowly upgrade to better speakers, but for now I’m thrilled with the excellent sound for tv and movies. Music sounds great as well, a lot warmer than my old system. Love the sleek look too. Highly recommended.
