Value for money exactly what I needed for my application.
I have a pond pump and UV light and the only way of knowing when the UV light had failed was when the pond water deteriorated which also meant the pond pump, filter and pond itsenf had to be cleaned. With this I can monitor the wattage and when the wattage falls below the usual reading in know the UV lamp needs replacing. Easy to program but as others have said the display is not backlit but a real plus is it can and does measure low wattages. You need to be in line with the display to read it and depending on the application you may need a torch.

Really good.
Great little device. Dead simple to use. Bought to see his how expensive my humidifier was to run.Lost one star as it has no back light to the read out. Which makes it difficult to read easily and usually means getting on your hands and knees to face it straight on.Good value though.

Nice and simple and works well
It works, it's cheap and the readings look correct. I'm happy without a backlight as it is less to go wrong and no big deal to use a torch if necessary. Also, the cumulative values are stored even when switched off so it is easy to pull it out and read it in a more accessible socket. Remember to reset if starting a new measurement from zero (press Mode for 5s) - that was the only non-obvious thing about it.

Works as described
Works well. I bought it to find out how much my appliances were costing every 24 hrs to see if I could make a saving. It is easy to set but you have to set it each time you want to try it on a different appliance. You have to set it once you plug it in and switch on the power. That may be awkward if you’re socket is somewhere difficult to access however if you use an extension it makes it a lot easier. By using the extension it is easy to set and easy to take a reading as and when required. In my opinion a perfect little piece of kit.

Simple way of reading wattage.
I just wanted a really simple plug that I could plug a device into and it would tell me how much wattage was being used, this little plug does just that, really simple. It does other things like working out cost etc, I haven't used it for that as It's easy to work out yourself...1000watt heater, 27p/kwh charge....it costs 27p an hour to run etc etc...you just need to know the wattage.Granted its hard to see in low light, but do you have a phone? yes? does it have a light? yes?....well...

Small, neat gadget but died after 23 months
While it worked, I was pleased with this gadget. It has only three buttons so is easy to operate. The display is simple and clear, although the viewing angle is restricted to ahead and below - you can't see the display if it's plugged into a wall and you're looking down at it. I would prefer a model with a backlight but they are all big and clumsy-looking. This one is small and neat. Finally, after 23 months, the power reading went random and then a few days later went to zero and stayed there. I guess I got my money's worth, but only just.

Cheapest energy monitor I have found
I have found this energy monitor relatively inexpensive and quite useful, as long as you know what your electricity tariff is, it is reasonably simple to calculate how much any appliance is costing to run.I have to agree with previous reviews which state that you may need a torch and to do a bit of bending down to inspect the display as it is small and not backlit.Seems to work well however and I recommend this device.

Very easy to use
I bought this basic but practical energy monitor to measure power being drawn by the various plugged devices in my home as an alternative to more complex smart plug-in versions that have become popular. This monitor is simplicity itself as you just plug it into your wall socket then subsequently plug in the item that is being measured and switch on. At this point power being drawn is instantly displayed (in kilowatts) and you can scroll down the menu to view accumulated kilowatt hours. The major discovery I made was that most LCD bulbs consume about 25% more than their official rating, so these have all been replaced by new LED bulbs and the payback period will be about one year. Also beware older items on standby (VCRs etc) that can consume an ongoing figure of 10 Watts rather than the quoted 1 Watt, which adds about £15 a year for the typical electric bill.I recommend this purchase.
