Beautiful, Professional, Versatile Epiphone Les Paul Standard PRO
Epiphone Les Paul Standard PRO Plus-Top Heritage Cherry Sunburst made in China. Pro-Bucker 3 (bridge/treble) and 2 (neck/rhythm) pickups with coil-splitting (coil-tapping) via push/pull volume-controls. Alnico II magnets, 4-conductor lead-wire, and vacuum wax-potted to eliminate microphonic feed-back. Two volume controls, and two tone-controls. Set-in neck (mahogany), rose-wood finger-board with trapezoid in-lays and 22 medium/jumbo frets. The neck is the “D-Profile slim-taper ‘60’s”. Finger-board radius is 12”. Maple veneer book-matched flame-maple top (AAA). (AAA means Plus-Top). Mahogany body (back and sides). Cream-binding for both the neck and body. Grover machine-heads (14:1 ratio) with life-time guarantee. The humbucker pick-ups are a replica of the famous Gibson 1959 P.A.F. (Patent Applied For), and are of vintage tone and out-put. The coil-split gives an approximation of a Fender Stratocaster. The fully-adjustable tune-a-matic bridge is a lock-tone, and therefore will not fall-off, or move, whilst cleaning and polishing. The strings are DAddario 10-46. The serial-number is silk-screened on the reverse of the head-stock. This guitar is both beautiful in appearance and in sound. The many tonal-choices via the three-way toggle-switch, make this Les Paul highly-versatile for both recording and concert. The humbucker can be mixed with the “single-coil” and with the tone-controls. (The Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO also has the “out-of-phase” facility). The weight is approximately 8.7lbs. This is a professional instrument, and compares very favourably with Gibson-quality. (PRO means professional). (Standard means “The Standard”). Highly-recommended. N.B. case not included. Arrived very quickly - thanks Amazon! Award 5 Stars!

This is a Great Guitar
Excellent purchase, item arrived very well packaged and in excellent condition.I was aprehensive buying on line, rather than in a guitar shop, however i need not have worried. The guitar itself plays exceptionally well, sounds like a very much more expensive Gibson, but then again Epiphone now use Gibson technology, physically the guitar is very well finished.Other than tuning the guitar is ready to go direct from the box,for a guitarist looking for a Gibson, that does not have a decent £1000 to spend, this guitar ticks all the boxes at less than half the price. The only thing to get used to,is that the guitar is on the heavyside,so ensure if gigging that you have a decent /comfortable strap, but i can say that the guitar is good not only for practice but also "gigging" as well.I am delighted with the new addition to my guitar family.

Great Les Paul at less than half the price
This Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro is a quality instrument which feels & plays like a US-made Gibson Les Paul. The guitar arrived in simple but strong triangular cardboard packaging delivered by courier, and fitted with a .010 - .047 string set, slightly heavier than my preferred .009 playing gauge but perfectly OK. All you have to do is tune it. The excellent Probucker pickups have peel-off covers so don’t forget to remove them, and you’re ready to go right out of the box. The volume/tone knobs are made from a resin polymer and feel like they might be a weak point, but in fact they’re tough and durable. The solid body and neck are mahogany and the fretboard is rosewood, and if you’ve never played a Les Paul but have played other electric guitars like Fenders, you’ll find the LP a bit heavier on the shoulders. Nothing else sounds or plays quite like it.One tip: this is a quality guitar so investment in a hard case is worth it. The genuine Gibson cases are better than the Epiphone-brand ones whereas (unlike the respective guitars) the price difference is small. You can upgrade the pickups and electronics etc but the guitar plays so well right out of the box that you don’t need to. At less than 50% of the price of a basic US-made Gibson, it’s a steal.

Fantastic guitar for £210 in warehouse deal
Got this in a warehouse deal for around £210 described as 'good' condition. Was prepared to return if there was any obvious defects. Arrived next day (prime) and was a little apprehensive when I picked up the box - guitar was able to move around inside. However, it was bubble wrapped and thankfully fine and in once piece. Closer inspection revealed great finish, lovely feel and a fine guitar. Had my eyes on these for a long time and watched lots of youtube reviews (check out Andertons - amusing videos by guys who can play) so had narrowed it down to the Standard Plus Top Pro - coil tapping, quality parts and maple figured veneer of mahogany main wood.Using this mostly to record into music software (Reason 8 - superb) which comes with Line 8 and Softube guitar effects plus lots of other effects. It is a little muddy on this set up (compared with my Squier Tele) and finding it difficult to get sharper sounds so often reverting to use for fuzzier tones (I appreciate that Tele should be sharper/twangier than the LP). However, through my Fender Champ original tube amp with Soul Food effects or clean it sounds much brighter. I am wondering if there is an issue with electrics on it (which may explain it as a return) - I can live with this and enjoy everything else I am getting from it. Sustain is fantastic, plays fine (wide neck for me but helpful with clumsy fingers) and finish is excellent.Only 4 stars because overall its just not as exciting as the Tele and responsive but a fantastic guitar for the price I paid.
