Great attachment
Bought as additional Christmas gift for my wife haha had complained that that the original attachement on the magimix didn't always get the complet bowl mixed, this helps ensure all ingredients at captured and mixed through!!

Best beater ever!!
I have a KitchenAid classic mixer and wanted the flex beater. I made the mistake of buying a cheaper one, and yes it did fit but didn’t scrape down the bowl as I hoped it would. So purchased this genuine flex beater and it does work, yes you still have to scrape down during mixing but that’s mainly to ensure the mix at the bottom is fully incorporated, but this does scrape the sides lovely when using. Worth every penny. Would recommend

KitchenAid 5KFE5T Flex Edge Beater
This beater does a very good job, as with most the kitchen attachments, it is pretty much non stick so makes it really easy to clean.

Does a good job but not perfect
I'd read some of the reviews regarding it smearing butter along and up the sides of the bowl which worried me. But bought it anyway because I saw the beater's flex edge could be used as a spatula to empty the contents of the mixing bowl. It arrived in an official Kitchenaid box with thickish booklet of instructions in English and different languages, so I think it's legit. I tested the beater with an empty bowl and noticed that it made a "knocking sound" even though it was installed properly. The original beater that came with mixer doesn't make that knocking sound. I eventually used it to mix cheesecake batter, and it did a good job. As there was no knocking when there was batter in the mixing bowl, I can only assume the knocking sound was due to the flex edge hitting the sides of the empty mixing bowl. Finally, it's no replacement for a good spatula when it comes to emptying the bowl unless you want batter all over your fingers. So overall my impression is mixed.

Can't understand why this isn't supplied as standard with KitchenAid
This appears to be a genuine KitchenAid product with packaging, and instructions and was despatched quickly by Smith & Co. It's white powder coated metal with a rubber flex edge along one of the sides of the beater which is very effective scraping the sides and the base of the bowl unlike the beater that comes with the KitchenAid. I know you can get the same flex edge beater in the US for around $12-$15 but some UK retailers are selling them for £29.99, so Amazon's supplier Smith & Co seems to be the best deal for UK customers. I've used it for making Swiss meringue buttercream, Victoria sponges and cupcakes which are all fairly light batters so I haven't tested it with a firmer mixture, but I've no complaints so far. I'd definitely recommend it.

Better than the original paddle.
Bought this for my KitchenAid Classic as the coating has started to chip on the original paddle which didn’t have the flexible spatula side. It fits perfectly and is much more effective at blending cake batter and buttercream.Surprisingly for a KitchenAid product, I also think at less that £20 it’s good value. I was doubtful that it would be a genuine KitchenAid part and was pleased to see that it is. Overall I’m really pleased with this.

Love Love Love!
After having my KitchenAid for 12 years, the only thing about it that bothered me was using the beater and having to stop it occasionally and hack at the mixture stuck to the side of the bowl (I have a metal, not glass bowl and so would have to peer over the edge a fair bit). I bought this on a whim (everything with the KitchenAid is so well made and so I didn't mind spending out on this) and am so glad I did! My chocolate chip cookies were even easier than usual to make due to this great beater.
