For the price point I have found this to be a sturdy and reliable heat-gun used daily. The power cord is quite long which is a bonus, heat settings straight forward and the general feel is that of quality. I would not hesitate recommending this over the 'no brand' equivalents.

Excellent product. Used to strip 8 doorframes after a cheaper version stopped working (don't waste your money on the ones that are half the price of this if you have a lot of woodwork to strip). It has two heat settings AND a dial to increase or reduce the heat. The fittings worked well - it can be stood on it's end to save you burning things which you don't want burned. The scraper parts aren't great though; I had to purchase additional bits for crevices.

Bought this to help me strip old wax and varnish from an oak table. Works very well and softens both wax and varnish very quickly allowing you to strip easily with stripping knife. A note of caution though - this little machine can put out a lot of heat so practice first to make sure that you keep correct distance from your work surface and move along the surface at the correct speed otherwise too much heat will burn the material you want to remove making it harder to scrape off.

Excellent choice, looked at others and decided on this and wasn't disappointed. Easy to use and with 2 heat setting did exactly what I wanted the tools also proved useful. Cable was long allowing ease of use and the carrying and storage case has just the right spaces for keeping everything tidy and ready for the next time.

I have used other brands but this is the best one.

This was my second B&D heat gun bought as a replacement. It was OK but had a softer fan so needed to be closer to what you are heating to use.... But it was ok. Now after 30 months of very light use, probably about once a month for no more than 15 mins each use, it no longer gets hot, only warm. Pulled it apart and can't see anything broken, burnt or melted so it's going to go in the bin. So it went from just ok, to broken with out a hard life. Shan't be buying another, especially as my original used and abused 10 year old model is still going strong, all be it with grinding and whirring noises!

One of the controls didn't make it to the photos: there's a three-state switch for off/medium airflow/high airflow at the back where you hold it, and also a turning knob for setting the temperature on the side. It can be laid down stable on its back between uses, so that the nozzle points upwards, not accidentally burning the surface underneath. Comes with a few accessories that can be attached to the nozzle, I found the protector quite useful, and a shavehook/scraper is also included. Comes in a plastic case. Very good quality for the price, definitely recommended. I used it to remove stubborn wallpaper paste from the wall. Make sure you wear gloves and never touch the tip, even when switched off, it can be extremely hot.
