Adeept 4WD Robot Toy for Raspberry Pi Pico Omni-directional Mecanum Wheels Robotic Car Kit DIY STEM Remote Controlled Educational with LCD Display and PDF Tutorials

I love this kit and was especially pleased to see it included the Raspberry Pi Pico as you often find kits that are designed around these mini computers don't include them. I've been tinkering with the larger Raspberry Pi's since the model 2B but this is my first larger robotic kit and I'm really quite impressed with the level of detail that has gone in to every aspect of this kit. Immediately from the weight of the box it arrives in it feel substantial and on unpacking, every component is carefully packaged individually whether in bubble wrap or anti-static bags and even the laser cut acrylic parts have a protective cover that needs peeling off. Before starting you will need to visit the Adeept site and download the package for this particular kit and again the level and depth of documentation is incredible. The vendor has invested a huge amount of time and knowledge to get you fully involved in the build and understanding of the components and how to get going with programming in Python using the Thonny application which is included in the package download. Amongst all the folders and files you will find hardware datasheets, numerous python programs, many "how to" lessons and of course assembly instructions along with an introduction to the Pico operating environment. The build itself will take a couple of hours if you take your time like I did and I also spent a while going through all the documentation to make sure I got the most from this kit. The assembly documentation is so detailed I found the build itself to be relatively straight forward although you will need to be patient with some of the smaller connections and tiny screws but during the build you will notice the quality of the parts used and that no expense has been spared in putting this kit together. After completion I've been having loads of fun playing with the robot and exploring everything it can do and have been really impressed with the Mecanum Wheels and how capable they are at getting this to move in all directions. Overall I really recommend this kit, it's great quality, excellent value and provides hours of entertainment and learning. Highly recommended.

Superbly made and great fun putting together, although it does take some patience. The instructions are very thorough. Works without any issues now that it's all put together. Very responsive to the remote control.

Easy to build not so easy to understand. Instructions could be clearer but got there in the end. The programming side needs a level of understand not aimed at a novice. Look to online references to help.

Das Adeept 4WD Roboter-Kit ist einfach großartig! Die Montage war gut erklärt und auch für Anfänger im DIY-Bereich machbar. Besonders beeindruckt bin ich von den omni-direktionalen Rädern – die Bewegungen des Roboters sind vielseitig und präzise. Mit dem Raspberry Pi Pico lässt sich das Ganze super programmieren, und die mitgelieferten Tutorials sind sehr hilfreich, um schnell loszulegen. Das LCD-Display und die Fernbedienung machen die Steuerung sehr intuitiv. Ein tolles Lernprojekt für alle, die sich für Technik und Robotik interessieren. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Fantastico. Semplice e intuitivo.

Leider Sind die Hauptplatte auf der der Kopf sitzt und die Displayeinfassung im Karton gebrochen. Damit es nicht sofort auffällt wurden sie über den Kratzschutz noch einmal mit weißem Isolierband überklebt. Die Sensoren und Funktionalität lassen sich somit nicht nutzen. Das Gerät lässt sich also nicht monieren. Kind traurig. 99 Euro weg.

Unfortunately one screw was missing, I have one lose piece that eventually I will fix but I was expecting to be complete :(
