Q: does the remote and mic work well with android phones?

Dont listen to these people. It works natively with any android phone above 4.4.2. The remote works as a single push for skipping forward, play and pause.

Q: These vs SoundMagic E10s?I'm struggling to make up mind,(build quality,mic,sound quality etc)

The new SoundMAGIC E10C is much better built than the MDR-EX650 or the older E10S. Cabling is stronger, the jack is rugged and SoundMAGIC have added a 3 button remote with volume control on the E10C. I would say the sound quality is comparable between the E10 and MDR-EX650 - both superb.Overall the SoundMAGIC is the better all round package.

Q: Will these earphones rust/oxidize because they are brass?

I've had mine for just over 2 years with a lot of use. The brass does "age" I just give them a good rub and there back looking good. Awesome sound Quality

Q: Which is better, these or the soundmagic e10?

The SoundMAGIC E10 is way ahead of Sony, Sennheiser or any of the big brands, especially when it comes the the quality of the components. The build quality is much better (just compare how the cable and jack plug is constructed) and the sound is more more rounded (the SoundMAGICs sound really nicely balanced). Buy the SoundMAGIC, it's a no brainer!
