My parents have had the one gas cooker since they moved into their first house. It is gloriously analogue, very heavily built and very reliable. But it lacks some of the modern conveniences that you would take for granted now. There is no automatic ignition on the cooker or the oven. This gas lighter made it much easier to reach into an oven and turn on the gas, or light the ring on the gas cooker. A squeeze and it's done. It's light, easy to use and given the CK name attached to it has a certain quality.

Works very effectively and requires no batteries.

Use this for the gas hob, easier than using matches or a gas lighter. Comes with a self adhesive hook for hanging.

Appears easy to use and provides a solution to a gas hob where the igniter has stopped working

It’s lightweight but works pretty well, just have to make sure the hole where you can see the spark is next to the gas ring. Initially thought this was a good buy but after just a bit of use it’s become unreliable - sometimes produces a spark, sometimes doesn’t so still need to keep some matches handy.

Useless. Stopped working after about 3 months of very light use. I bought this thinking there was nothing to go wrong. Turned out I was wrong! Avoid.

The piezo gas lighter (C.K Classic C6000A) fulfills its purpose. I use it on the smallest gas ring of my gas cooker, which has stopped producing its own spark. It has been in use for two months now and it works fine. I find it practical because it is mechanically operated and it does not need any batteries or filling-up with gas. The spark is of course small and can be used only for the purpose of lighting gas. It's a bit strange that it is not possible to choose the color when buying (or at least that was the case when I bought it). On the other hand, there was only one other piezo gas-lighter that I could find on Amazon.de at the time of my purchase, while there were many battery-operated or gas-filled ones, so this type of product seems pretty rare. As a result, I was happy to find it on Amazon and the fact that I couldn’t choose the color didn’t seem so important. In the end, just a small advice. When using it, the lighter should be positioned very close to the gas ring. On the rectangular end near the spark-gap, there are two openings on the side. One of the openings should be oriented towards the source of gas, so that the gas can flow to the spark-gap and come in contact with the spark.
