Scrubs: Season 1-9 (The Complete Collection) [DVD]

Felt guilty about constantly watching these online and bought it, seeing as the deal is fair. Unfortunately it does include the 9th season, which if you're reading this review I'm sure you know, was terrible. However the 1-8 collection is about £20 more, so you may as well buy this and throw away the last few discs.The show itself is excellent. It stars Zach Braff as J.D and follows his life over eight years as a doctor at Sacred Heart Hospital. The supporting cast and guests stars are, on the whole, fantastic. The relationship between J.D and Dr. Cox, his mentor, is one of the best on television. The show is funny and endearing.The DVD is lacking. Even though I've read numerous times the show was shot in Widescreen, the DVD is presented in old fashioned 4:3 full screen (ie its been cropped down at the sides.) The show was shot with widescreen in mind. Also to fit as many episodes on each disc as possible, they've all been digitally compressed and it shows (all the episodes look noisy and interlaced). The sound quality is fine. I haven't watched many of the extras yet, but the commentary tracks I've listened to have been informative and funny.Even though I've stated the quality of the episodes is poor, unless the show gets a massive resurgence or a Blu-ray release - its probably the best we're going to get therefore I stuck with the 5 star rating. I think the show will age well as the years go by and deserves to be seen.

Scrubs box set seasons 1-9 is the complete edition of Scrubs following the switching of networks in the US for the final series. A previous box set only did seasons 1-8. Not that you're missing much; the best years of Scrubs were seasons 1-8 with 9 being like the Bond film done by Sony in the 80s, i.e. not that good.Zach Braff is a charming lead in this and ably assisted by his "brutha from another mutha", Dr Chris Turk. I love this show for a few reasons:1. I'm married to a doctor and this series mirrored her real life experience in so many ways. I also think that anyone embarking on the first big job of your life could relate to their pains. The whole series was a journey through my 20s that in some way I feel I shared with the characters.2. It's just hilarious! Ted, the Janitor, Blonde Doctor, JD, Dr Cox, Turk, The Todd...all brilliant. They gel so well together (just like the Friends actors did).3. It's touching - as funny as it is, it deals with some difficult subjects and while it makes light of them, it always does so with a bit of dignity.4. I'll say it again - it's hilarious!Sadly when this series moved networks the show had done all it could but the money grabbers tried to squeeze a final series out of it by introducing a completely unlikeable bunch along with a few of the original cast. Although I watched it, it was poor compared to all previous series and should never have been done.The DVDs are presented nicely and it's great to watch without annoying adverts or on screen TV pop-ups. This and Friends are the only two box-sets I'll likely own and re-watch. I think this will be a classic series that will be shown for years.

An impeccable box-set of American comedy, this was the perfect self-bought Christmas present for someone who is such a fan of the show, that I would time my lunch-breaks around sitting in front of the television to catch the daily double bill on E4.As all 9 seasons are now avaiable together, this was exactly what I was after, and at a great price. It is something that you can either watch one episode a day, watch occasionally when you have the time, or sit down and watch a season in one sitting (for those with lots of time on their hands!) The mix of situational comedy and drama leads to sometimes moving, sometimes loving, but mostly side-splittingly hilarious viewing, whilst the involvement with the characters that shows such as Scrubs can create and build over so many seasons allows you to really relate to the cast, come to understand them and empathise with their lives and situations.With all the episodes playable either through episode selection or back to back, and a host of special features, this DVD set is packed to the brim with medical humour, and is a real treat for any fan of such a show. It is even worth owning for anyone who has already seen most of the episodes such as myself - its replayability value is endless!And Turk's dancing never gets old!

Got whole boxset in excellent condition and delivered on time. Great product and service

The box isn't bulky it's actually quite small, the delivery was fast considering when i ordered it the box set was out of stock but got to me within 3 days.The sleeves are sort of small and flimsy but i dont mind when they're all left in the box.Mostly all the discs were rolling around but when checked there was no scratches.If you're a fan of the series this is probably the best way to enjoy the series as it seems hard to find it on streaming platforms, the price was also very reasonable for a series over 10 years old.

It’s Scrubs. If you enjoy Scrubs, you should absolutely buy this, I don’t need to sell the show to you. The only disappointment is the extremely poor presentation of this box. It’s very cheap and flimsy feeling, and none of the DVDs are in proper cases, just cardboard slip cases. Worst of all, half the DVDs had fallen out and spent the journey rolling around in the box. A show as great as this deserves better.

Had set before but 20 years has worn them out

I bought this box set last year off amazon for £50. I felt that i have robbed amazon as this was a complete bargain at that price, now that it's £37.25 you would be crazy not to get it.This series was fantastic and full of thrills from very emotional scenes to crying with laughter, this will have you crying from start to finish!The only con is that the little tabs inside the cases where broke, they seem to be cheaply made and even though this annoyed me, it still deserves 5 stars!
