Amazing Product
BEfore buying this product I checked the product reviews to make sure everything was in order and found a few people were having problems keeping the time, I clicked on the comments page for one of these reviews and found that the cure is to set the thing on the back to 50Hz (if you are in the UK) as it's time-keeping comes from the electricity in the house (you plug it into the wall) and you have to set the thing on the back in accordance to the homes electric (UK = 50Hz)whereas setting this to 60Hz would mean the homes electric and the alarm clock settings didn't match (you'll understand what I mean when you buy this item. Anyway it's very loud and is guarenteed to wake you up, I wasn't sure what to expect from the vibrating attachment but was impressed, it vibrates furiously and if placed under your pillow is guarenteed to wake you, the volume of the thing and the vibration together is definately something you'll wake upto. It's easy to set time and alarm, easy to use the volume etc. I just want to say now this product does not require batteries, there is a slot for a 9V battery but it is not required, as I've said this alarm is powered by the homes electricity all the battery is for is a backup so if the homes electric cuts out or whatever then the alarm will be able to keep track of time, according to the instructions even if the electric was to cut out then the LED screen wouldn't show it would just keep time, if you ask me it's better just giving the battery a miss and re-setting the time when needing to (when unplugged or electricity cuts out)

AMAZING PRODUCT - FINALLY, I'M UP ON TIME!!!!
I am a very light sleeper and the only way I can sleep is by using earplugs that block out most noise - obviously the problem is that it also blocks out most of the alarm clocks I use, including loud twin bell alarm clocks. Also, since I started taking blood pressure medication, I found that I have been sleeping much deeper and have a lot of problems waking up. Then someone recommended this alarm clock, and honestly, best purchase I've made this year. I know it's enough to wake the dead it's so loud, but it has me up on time and that is all I wanted. I actually didn't even need to use the bed shaker, but just grateful to have found something that finally wakes me up and is super loud - so very happy with the product and features. Took some adjusting to find the right volume for the buzzer, but there are different buzzer options, and you can dim the clock also, which I found useful - I have it on the lowest setting so the glare doesn't bother me in the night.

Very long term review (nearly 14 years later!)
My original review: Back in early 2012 I was diagnosed as suffering from Shifted Sleep Phase Disorder. What this means is that unlike most people whos'e natural body clocks tell them they they're tired at around 10-11pm, I just don't feel remotely tired until around 2-3am. I have to get up for work at 5 and as such I used to have to set a total of 9 different alarms which still occasionally failed to get me up on time. Not any more! I was looking for a serious, very loud alarm clock that would definitely get me up on time to go to work. Enter the Sonic Bomb. I've been using my Sonic Bomb literally Monday - Friday every week (except holidays) for the past 6 and a half years. It's never once missed a beat and has been successful 100% of the time in getting me up on time. It also keeps fairly accurate time so won't need to be reset often at all. The alarm itself is incredibly loud and the shaker unit even placed underneath 2 pillows feels like about 50 mobile phones bundled together. No matter how heavily you sleep, or no matter how little sleep you get on any given night, this will wake you up on time. The only potential disadvantage is that the alarm is so loud that it could very well wake up everyone in the same house as you. Yes, it really is that loud. However, the Sonic Bomb offers a shaker-only mode with no audible alarm. I can't recommend this heavily enough and due to my sleep issue it's probably saved me from being sacked over the years. Edited to add: At the time of writing (October 2020) I'm still using my Sonic Bomb every week day and it's as reliable today as the day it came out of the box. Still gets me up on time like nothing else can, no matter how little sleep I've had and no matter how early I need to be out of bed. Not the cheapest alarm but if you 100% absolutely MUST be up on time and demand a 100% reliable alarm then accept no substitutes. If and when mine does eventually fail in the distant future then I'll instantly buy another one. Unhesitatingly recommended.

Solid Item, Worth the price
Short story: quite easy to use, read the manual, good value, wakes me up everytime Long Story: I’ve had this alarm for a month now, I have NEVER slept in since. I only use the bed vibration pad as i do not live alone and the alarm sound is LOUD. But the vibrating pad is more than enough to wake me up. I’ve had a couple slip ups when setting my alarm (mostly because I was tired) but it’s pretty easy to use if you’re awake 😂 One of my only qualms is the fact that this alarm MUST be plugged in at all times. I believe there is a battery component but it’s optional and you have to get the battery yourself. If there is no battery and you unplug it, the alarm clock will reset to 12:00. Other reviews have said to not put the bed shaker under your pillow (as advertised) however I find it most effective in my pillow. This may be the way my bed is, but sometimes when it was under my mattress cover it would fall out and hit against the bed frame (which was louddd) Overall, I think this alarm is good value for money. I haven’t tried other cheaper variants but this one has been good and the vibration pad hasn’t weakened at all over time. The instructions are pretty easy to understand but you have to read the manual.

I live in a duplex, and my tenant upstairs can hear a pin drop, it seems. Me, on the other hand...I've been hearing-impaired ever since having radiation/chemo treatments 15 years ago, and I have to wear hearing aids. When I don't have them in at night, a bomb could go off and I probably wouldn't hear it. Since I wake very early in the morning to go to work (5a.m.) I needed something that would wake me, but without disturbing the tenant. After seeing another review here from a mom who stated that her hearing-impaired son benefitted from this, I decided to try it, and wound up ordering one. Several months later, and I am in love with this alarm. I don't use the sound feature on this one (obviously) but rely on the vibration function in order to get up in the morning. And let me tell you, that vibration is strong! I place the vibrator-extension part under my pillow, and as soon as it starts up, I'm wide awake. There's no way anyone could sleep through it! It's silent, so it doesn't disturb other household members, and it's strong enough to wake anyone from a very deep slumber. (The alarm itself also flashes a red light when the vibration mode comes on, but I tend to not use that since I can't actually see the alarm clock until I sit up.) One tap on the bottom right button shuts off the wake vibration; one tap on top of the alarm gives you a chance to snooze (and you can set the time you want to snooze). AND the instructions on how to set up the alarm are extremely easy to follow (it couldn't even confuse me, and that's saying a lot!). The only thing that I perhaps might give a 'con' to is the clock itself; it's so lightweight that, in an effort to turn off the alarm, one could easily knock it over. I've gotten used to this though...and it's a minor flaw. Overall, for the price, the ease of use, and the reliability, I'd say this is one of the best investments I've made in a long time. Highly recommended. For the price
