I was scared but this has been great!
I got this for my 7-lb chihuahua mix. He’s lived in a house his whole 10-yr life and gotten increasingly barky at any little noise. Recently, we had to move into an apartment where he is not allowed to bark. I was super hesitant and afraid to use a device like this. I read terrible things on the internet that made me fear that I’d traumatize him or hurt him by using a bark collar. But I couldn’t control his barking any other way and needed something that would also work consistently when I wasn’t home. It was this or risk getting kicked out of my apartment. So I cautiously tried the bark collar.I’m glad to say it was not nearly as scary as I feared. This has an option to just use sound and vibration without administering a shock, which is great. We have not needed to use the shock, ever. He figured out very quickly that there are vibration consequences for barking and in the 12 hours he had the collar on the first time, I think he only barked/got vibrated twice. Then he was a quiet and calm dog for the rest of it.We went the whole next day after that with no collar and no barking. The third day, he barked a couple times so I put the collar on him. He barked again and got vibrated. No more barking the rest of the day. It really did change his whole energy, but not in a way that made me feel like he was being harshly punished, afraid, or hurt. That’s what I was worried about. But he was just calm and quiet. Today we have gone all day through many noises without the collar on and without any major reaction from him. Great progress! I intend to keep the collar off when I’m home, but it will go back on if/when he barks or if I have to leave the house and leave him home alone.Every consequence is sound (tone) followed by vibration. I do wish the sound was more of a warning and if the barking stops, then the vibration doesn’t continue. However, on this model it is always a couple seconds of sound followed by vibration.I also wish the strap was shorter, simply because my dog is so small. The collar fits and is able to be tightened small enough for him, but the excess strap is very long and gets in the way. I had to tie it up awkwardly, but it doesn’t stay very well. The device itself is a little big for his small size but it’s not too bad and doesn’t seem to bother him. I understand that this is designed to fit/accommodate a range of dogs in a range of sizes and I think it would do that nicely based on the amount of extra strap.Overall, I’m pleased with this product--it has been very effective for us.

Very effective
My 6 year old maltipoo was getting to the point where she was barking at every little noise, every person, every movement, it was getting to be a real headache. I bought the bark collar in desperation. I chose this one because it only vibrates (there is NO SHOCK). Best thing I ever did. When she barked the firat time it made a loud beep, amd she was surprised. But that's it. She didn't bark anymore!! That's all it took! She stopped barking! What a relief. As well after that she barks waaay less overall, even when not wearing it. And now I only occasionally need to put it on her if I'm traveling and she needs to be quiet. Other than that, I don't even put it on her, and her barking has reduced 90%.What a great product! Thank heaven it works!!

Quiet, calm dog for the first time in ages.
I love my dogs, both of them. But like all creatures they have varying personalities. My coonhound, Beau, is a very energetic young boy who loves to let the neighbors know he's in the back yard, all day, every day. I work from home so I can generally put him inside when he's too excited and starts barking to an amount I can only assume is his version of a long-form podcast to the neighbors dog. They get into it, my mild annoyance turns into a full-blown migraine and he's got to come in for a bit. This collar is a godsend. Beau is aware of what happens when he barks with the collar on and not only does it keep him quiet, but it keeps him from getting too excited with our neighbors dog. He's yet to pull it off and I think that has a lot to do with the smaller profile of the collar. He only wears it when he's in the back yard during the afternoons when I'm in meetings, so it's worked wonders for both of us.Battery life almost seems too good. I think I've fully charged it twice since I bought it. Instructions are simple enough. I wish the vibrate feature alone was enough, but he's been much more self aware of his actions with a quick bite of the shock feature.I have an american bulldog as well but she's a big sweetie who never barks at anyone. She's jealous of the collar so now a have an extra normal collar I put around her at the same time so she doesn't feel left out.I guess the dogs think collars are a special treat. He doesn't fight putting it on and it keeps everyone sane throughout the day.

Does the job!
Pros: It works! Sometimes it may take a bark or two, but it will let my dog know, and she will stop barking. I have only used the vibrate feature. It’s easily adjustable. The charge lasts for a longggg time!Cons: It does pick up on the barking of our other dogs, so our other dogs will set off if it’s not on their neck. Also, as you can see from the photos, in a matter of hours, it got very scratched up. Granted, my dogs love to wrestle outside in the grass, but I wasn’t expecting this much wear from wrestling.
