So good. Profiles 8 countries, one region, and space examining their influence historically, regionally, and globally and offering a glimpse of the future. 2nd book and still good.

This book is similar to a previous one I read by the author. It's more current but its chapters also tend to focus more on specific countries, not regions. It's well written and seems knowledgeable. If you're looking for a book with geopolitical observations, you'll enjoy it. I did.

This is a fascinating book filled with details that connect gaps most people probably have in their understanding of geopolitics—past, present, and future. The writing is precise and excellent. It is witty at times, with few wasted words. The author’s secular/naturalist leanings are evident as he clearly concedes things like doomsday climate change models and evolutionary theory as settled facts, something to which conservative and Christian readers may object.

The Power of Geography is an excellent analysis of the importance of geography in the political realm of the past and the present. World history was and is still being shaped by the geography of our world. This book goes deep into why geography matters so much.

Excellent read explains a lot about the current and past history of the world.

This book is fascinating.It ties together history and geography of many countries that are relatively unknown. Each concise chapter will surprise you with interesting, new information.

Although I am a big fan of Tim's prisoner of geography, this book somehow disappoints me. I feel that I was more like reading a collection of short histories of ten countries and didn't learn much about geography.
