This lamp is perfect, giving plenty of light for detailed artwork.

I added this to my work bench for working on electronics. The light is brighter than my current bench light which is also a gooseneck lamp. This lamp folds up and out of the way easily and easily bends into position I need it to.CON: When rotating it right, the base swivels with the neck, so I have to hold the base so I can manipulate the neck better. When rotating the neck left, I don't have this issue. The lamp is so bright and useful that I forgive this one flaw.

I only gave this magnifier 4 stars because the magnifying head is too small for me. I am unable to visualize through it with both eyes unless my face is more than a foot away from the lens. Any closer than that and I have to use only one eye. Otherwise, the unit seems well made, it feels sturdy, has a good range of motion and the gooseneck holds the head securely. It is simply too small for me to use for the purpose I got it (soldering and working with surface mount components). I am keeping it though because it does make a good lighted magnifying glass - if that was what I had bought it for it would have gotten five stars.

This light is great! The neck is stiff enough so that no matter what position you put it in it stays in place. I love all the different types of lights and the fact that you make them as bright as you want. The magnifying glass is ok. You have to pretty much put what you’re looking at right underneath it.

My first area of concern is that in just over two months the charging device fell apart. It is a plastic shell that is glued together. When trying to pull it out of the socket to repair it, I sustained a pretty substantial electrical shock. Second problem is with the sturdiness of the product. No matter how tight I have clamped it down (even going so far as to use large vise grips) the device comes loose again after a day or two.The one thing I do like is the flexible gooseneck. It has good flexibility and as a result it has good range of motion.

I bought this light to replace an older, worn out adjustable boom light with magnifier. The gooseneck feels very sturdy and holds it's position once you get it where you want it. The magnifier is stronger than the one I retired and is sharp and clear. The light is plenty bright so you can see what you're working on. I can recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Found this to help for those tiny sometime hidden numbers. Good quality glass.

Has a nice long reach. The multiple colors and brightness are also a plus. I do suggest that if you need to tilt the light along the axis of the neck, to NOT try and twist the light portion directly as it feels pretty weak and will likely break. Instead use both hands--one on the light and the other on the neck and twist both simultaneously.
