GHS Strings 3120 Medium Scale, 4-String Bass Precision Flats, Stainless Steel Flatwound, 35.5" Winding, Light (.045-.095)

Like the sound and feel of the strings

These are the best bass strings I have experienced in 40 years of bass playing ! I have 6 bass guitars,and so far,have these on 4. I have 3 German Hofner basses.A 63, 64,and a 69 . I have tried Pyramid ( a very good string),DAddairio,(another good string) All of the LaBella,and most were satisfactory,and , and TI ,among others. These strings are warm & smooth first day on the bass,and after a month ,they are fantastic. These strings have the warmest,and best intonation I have experienced.A very balanced set,especially for the Hofners at half the price of most other high end brands.Also have a similar set (long scale) on my Fender P bass,and they sound great on it.Next ,I will put them on my Rickenbacker,and Ibanez basses.If you are looking for bright.slapping type strings,these are the wrong strings for you. If you are looking for a warm,rich, deep,motown,and or 60's sound,these ARE the strings for you ! !

Put a set of these on my Mustang bass to replace a new set of expensive Pyramid Gold flatwounds that were just a dead thud rather than a sustained note the Mustang is capable of. These GHS strings sound great! Got that P bass sound back and are very bright for flatwounds. Love them, so far so good! Make sure you get the right length for the Mustang with string through body, some 30" short scale strings are too short. These 32" medium scale strings fit great.

I found out the hardware but if you have a precision with strings through body, the purple winding starts midway through the 1st fret. I thought 35.5" would be enough but it's not. GHS should be way more clear about this...
