We use this meter to monitor my husband's hemoglobin and hematocrit levels during his testosterone treatments to make sure his levels do not get to high. It has worked pretty good for us, it seems to read pretty accurately.

Bought to keep an eye on Hemoglobin levels at home. The kit is easy to use but tests about 1 point higher than a lab does for a blood draw.

My meter works really well and I like the large memory bank. I had to watch some videos to figure out how to use it. The instructions weren't great, but definitely not the worst. Could have just been a little more detailed. The screen is easy to read and it comes with a lot of supplies (test strips, lancets, etc). I was most impressed with their customer service. Very helpful and responsive.

Horrible. Hard to use . Every time shows different results with not even close numbers.

For the price I expected a bit more. Unfortunately these type testers (Hemoglobin and Hematocrit) as not readily available in US except for Med Lab testing, the ability to have an on-hand tester for those afflicted with low hemoglobin. The first (and only) positive! It came with instructions in English, that were understandable. First unit of similar nature I bought 4 years ago was all in Chinese, and hit or miss when it came to working. I was released from inpatient with a hemoglobin reading of 7.5 and tested two days later at 6.9. I received my test unit and performed the test according to instructions and the meter read out at 10.1. Well I know how my body feels and there is no way my hemoglobin was 10.1, more like 7.0-7.5 . I performed a second test a day later and the readings came out to be 8.8; again, I know how my body reacts with low hemoglobin, and I would wager I am back to 6.9, perhaps lower. I have upcoming lab tests in a day or so, so I will perform a side by side comparison. To date, not thrilled with the performance, as I need something I can rely on as being accurate since I am outpatient and suffering from low hemoglobin concentrations. There may not be anything on the market that meets the "needs" criteria, but this is definitely not something I would rely on. of fuse is a plus, but results of testing are off by as much as 2.0 or more on Hemoglobin levels when compared to Lab results. Presently my hemoglobin levels are in the 6.3 to 7.5 level, the first test I conducted read out at 10.1, I knew that not to be true by my symptoms. Second test next day was ay 8.8, again, not anywhere near my body's symptoms. Third test yielded 4.7, granted I felt bad, but not that bad, Lab results one hour later presented a 6.3 hemoglobin level so, a 1.6 difference. Underwent a blood transfusion next reading (meter) was 10.1; again, I definately know my hemoglobin was higher, but not 3.8 higher, maybe around an 8-8.5 but no more. if you require precise and accurate readings, this meter is not for you. If you are in the normal range (13-17) and want a curiosity trick, then this is perfect. Personally, I will not be relying on it.

I had to watch a video of the application instructions. I messed up three applications until I got it right. Not bad. I will test this with my doctor's result in the near future. You sure don't get many strips and tubes.

I just received this meter and it is by far the easiest to use! For one, the directions for setup are in several languages. Two, everything is included and the instructions are very detailed. ONE THING TO NOTE: Be careful when buying extra test strips. This meter, as most of them, only comes with 25 strips and, as someone who will get a lot of use out of this meter, I bought extras. MAKE SURE the brand of the meter MATCHES the brand of the test strips. The recommended strips with this meter are the Mission brand, but that code card does not fit this meter. You have to search for the Yicare hemoglobin test strips. They are the only ones that will fit. Overall, I am very pleased with this meter, and highly recommend!!!!
