Turtleback Holster Designed for iPhone 11 Pro (2019) iPhone Xs (2018) and iPhone X (2017) Belt Case Black Leather Pouch with Executive Belt Clip, Horizontal

This Turtleback swivel iPhone X leather case is the best made case I have bought in the past 20 years. The swivel post and fittings are steel and the belt clip is stronger than any plastic or covered spring steel clip on any previous case I have seen, or owned. The leather finish and construction are flawless and fits the iPhone X even with an OtterBox Commuter installed on the iPhone X. I would strongly recommend a rigid, drop-test qualified case this new iPhone because of the weak glass front and back. The only trick is to be sure to slide the iPhone into the case with the screen side closest to the swivel side. The phone is easy to slide in and remove from the case. I have paid more than twice the price of the Turtleback for other cases I the past but none are as good or likely as durable as this one. Time will tell. I have only had the iPhone X and this Turtleback case since Nov 4, but so far, so good.

This isn't the first Turtleback case that I've owned; I generally find them sturdy, reliable and well made. The nylon outer shell is tough, and the inner shell appears to be a nice microsuede that won't scratch up your phone. Initially the case fit my iPhone X wearing a [slim style] Supcase Unicorn Beetle very snugly, and it was difficult to remove the phone using only one hand. That only lasted a day or two; the Turtleback stretched just enough so that the phone now removes fairly easily using one hand, while at the same time not being so loose that it would fall out of the case if held upside down with the flap open. The flap uses magnets, and for the most part I like them, they hold the flap securely closed.One word of caution, the belt clipped is rotatable and removable from the case by rotating it 180 degrees, and then sliding it off the metal d-ring. The problem is that case could inadvertently rotate and come off the clip if you aren't paying attention. This happened to me once while driving but I was fortunate to find it in my truck once I noticed that the case and phone were missing. It's not that unusual for belt clip style cases to come off a belt while sitting, so I won't ding turtleback much for that.My other issue with the case is the lack of a hole for the lightning [headphone] connector. It would have been easy for Turtleback to add one, but I guess they figured people use wireless earpods. It really would have made the case perfect for me.

This is the second Turtleback iPhone holster that I have purchased. The first was for an iPhone 7 Plus and this is for the iPhone X. Both of the Turtleback holsters fit their respective iPhones perfectly allowing sufficient extra space that I have been able to use a protective case around the iPhone. The construction and materials for both have been very good with the iPhone X case appearing to have a somewhat more durable leather than that for my iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone X case now uses two powerful magnets on the holster flap ensuring quick and efficient closing. I like the executive clip on the Turtleback cases. It is covered with leather which makes it attractive and easy to clip over my belt while securely holding the holster case in place. I highly recommend the Turtleback vertical holster case.

The case is well made out of quality materials and my iPhone X fits in well enough (just a hair tight to begin with but I'm sure the leather will stretch a bit with use. The reason I've marked it down to 3 stars (I'd really like to give this 3.5 stars, but I can't) is because the clip on the back rotates too easily, allowing the case to turn upside down fairly easily if I bump into something with the case. This could allow the phone to drop out of the case and fall to the floor, a potentially disastrous result for a phone with a glass front and back. To be fair, the magnet on the cover is strong and so the phone didn't fall out the two times this happened to me, but the case is new and a suspect it will only rotate more easily as time goes on. To sum up, a well made useful case with a potentially major flaw, the easy rotation. If this were fixed, this would be a 5 star case.

Do not purchase the holster if your iPhone X is in a slim case. It will not fit. I have a slim casemate case that barely adds anything to the dimensions of the phone. Even so, the phone could only fit in the case with a solid push and the holster could not close with the phone in it, naturally, this means me phone would be anything but secure in this case. Because I paid the $43.00 in the hopes of getting actual leather, I must now go throw the hassle of returning this case. The is my first and last purchase from this manufacturer.

This is a good looking holster for my phone. It is labelled for an iPhone X, but it fits my Pixel 2 and Galaxy S8 (with slim cases) very nicely, as well. It looks and smells like real leather, not the fake stuff on almost every other holster, which is what makes it look nicer than the others, in my opinion. It is more expensive than other similar sized holsters, but for me it is worth the extra $ as it looks much nicer with the real leather. It does not add extra bulk (i.e. for credit cards) other than the flaps necessary to surround the phone. I appreciate this as bulkier cases that I have tried tend to look like a purse on my belt.Functionally, it has worked well for me with daily use for several months. The magnetic flap opens and closes well. The belt clip holds well (except occasionally falling off in the car because of the seat belt strap, as with other holsters I have used). The clip is also surrounded by leather, so my guess is that the metal will not become exposed with use as quickly as those with fake leather.I would order again, but I am hoping that due to the apparent better construction and materials it may be more durable than other holsters and that I won't have to reorder.Update: I have been using this holster for 2 years. It still looks great and works well. There is some mild fraying of the very thin leather covering at some of the seams and corners revealing the black cloth fabric underneath. But this is difficult to notice without looking for it. The metal buckle remains completely encased in the leather covering. I did, in fact, order again but only because I love this case and wanted one for a different size phone!

I work as an autobody repair tech, with those working conditions in mind, this product didn’t take that much of a beating, but the rotating mechanism started to become loose, it seems the plate (slot) holding the gear is bending (spreading wider), which at certain angle it does still holds tight, but I just have to give it a good hammer and it does work for another couple of weeks or so. As of now, from the bending of the metal, it’s becoming thin and loose, the surface nylon is a great design, durable but, the openings are not really needed, the phone still will get damaged and scratched on those corners, luckily, I have a case, but, still have damages somewhat on the case as well. The magnetic flap enclosement design is good, however a much stronger magnet or that aspect of the design needs to be reconsidered. My phone has at certain moments flew out, again, my temp solution was to over stretch the flap to ensure full contact of the magnets. This is because of my case on the phone, but I can’t have a naked phone where the clip holder itself has chances of damaging my phones corners.If you’re looking for a cool looking clip holder, this is a very nice looking product and plentiful durable for your regular daily use. But, if you’re looking for a somewhat semi-heavy duty protection, look else where.

Solid leather well built and so far very impressed and the best belt case I have had. Will order another one when this one wears out.
