Good book/many methods
Good book.Exercises have a touch and added different styles/methods to them, e.g., bicep curls can be performed many ways than the traditional few techniques.I recommend buying it. Although you don't have to practice all, but you will have the idea what extra you can do with your home dumbells.

great for men and women
This book is great for anyone who wants dumbbell workouts. Covers everything really, and having intermediate variations as well as beginners versions, means the exercises are suitable for beginners and advanced alike. Photos are black and white but clear enough to follow, and detailed " how- to " for each exercise is very clear. Easy to follow. This really is a great book. The only reason i have given 4 stars is simply because of the cover which says "mens health" at top of title, this could be off putting to many women, who may overlook this book ,thinking it is for the men. But listen up ladies, i am an experienced weight lifter and also a 49year old lady, and muscle is muscle regardless of gender. Would definitely recommend buying this book.

excellent!!
i have been a gym goer on and off for the past 16yrs, what used to put me off was the free weights and weight machines with the big gorillas hanging about them! i always felt self contious and found it off putting, was i using the correct weights? was i doing the correct method? just negative vibes, also i got bored sitting on the same machines day in day out until i found this wee book, thousands of excersises, explained so even an idiot like me can understand! i now go to the gym looking forward to trying out my new workouts which i have created myself, oh and did i forget to mention i have lost 13kg in weight and finally getting some definition on my torso.BUY THIS BOOK FOLKS!! i promise if your willing to put the effort in you wont be dissapointed.pspay attention to the combine and conquer excersises, they will give you pain!!!

Perfect
Exactly what it claims to be, has a good variation of exercises to do and explains how you can adapt them to change up the routines a little too. Great book, would recommend to anyone who's looking to start out with dumbbells, even people who have had them a long time could probably learn a few things from this book.As a beginner I didn't know where to start but this book has so much packed in from what dumbbells you can use to how to personalise your dumbbell routines.I'm still trying new things from this book every time I use it!

you realise how much better it is learning from video than from a book
This book is okay. I think I expected more theory and detailed explanation of each exercise but it's fairly minimal. The main thrust of this book is not the individual exercises, it is the way the author combines them into super-exercises. I'm only a beginner so haven't gone past the beginner exercises but when you compare this book with any one of a number of popular Youtube clips showing the same exercises, you realise how much better it is learning from video than from a book.

A great comprehensive book for the price.
This is genuinely a great book for people wanting to work with dumbells. There's a lot to read but it's easy to build a structure and build on it as you develop your experience and want more variation. It covers just about every workout you could hope for using dumbells. And all this for a small price. Highly recommend.
