not many books around for sitar but this is a good starting point,from reading this i discovered that my bridge was damaged and just ordered another one also is quite easy to follow if you read a bit then practice i am a beginner myself and ravi shankas lost me starts off like Mel bay then turns into Eric Clapton.this is worth the punt though

So good! As an english guitarist (borrowing a sitar) who loves indian classical music, this has been a great starting block. It's a well written book with an academic slant... I'm obsessing over the nuances of particular notes more than ever..!
