Documentation and support pages recommend upgrading to latest version
Firmware version 1.0.B installed, website gives latest version as 2.0.J. Documentation and support pages recommend upgrading to latest version. Response to upgrade option "Oops! Service not available. Please try later." How much later? Same response for over 3 weeks. Only automatic response from support email. Belgian telephone number given is unobtainable. Others on the internet are saying if you attempt to use any other cartridge except Xyz's very expensive ones the software will disable your printer completely. Very difficult to glue model to table without it being knocked off, maybe down to old firmware version. Very disappointed. Hardware seems robust and well made but software and support rubbish.UPDATE 17/01/2015. Still no firmware upgrade, nor response from xyz support. However I am upgrading my evaluation from 2 to 4 stars as I have successfully printed many models with the printer in "out of the box" state. After a couple of prints the print table seemed to acquire a coat of glue which turns sticky with a wipe with a damp cloth just before printing plus careful application of new layer, so few problems with models breaking loose. Being confined to Xyz expensive cartridges has advantages. You don't need to think about nozzle temperature settings as they are embedded in the cartridge chip. Other printers apparently need some experimentation with different materials to get the best temperature settings for the material being printed. The original impression of robust hardware has so far been confirmed. Having followed the table levelling procedure (contrary to the included written instruction, but contradicted elsewhere on the internet) I have not had to alter it since first setting the up printer. Not as yet convinced this dual nozzle version is much of an advantage, there are no instructions I can find on how to print with both nozzles in a single object. By printing two objects superimposed, specifying different nozzles for each object has worked, but seems a very crude way of doing it. On the whole I am pleased with my purchase, but feel very insecure without any backing from Xyz support.

Terrible software.
Now I thought I'll write a review on this machine for people that never used 3D printer before. As this printer is my first experience with 3D printing.1. Is this machine is easy to use?Yes and no. It doesn't work out of the box as it needs bed calibration. To calibrate it can be tricky at the first time but ones you done it few times its ok. Also it need patience to actually learn how to print, what settings to use how to position the print. And to get to some reasonable results took me nearly all the filament that is included to use.2. Does it work on Mac?Yes. But the software that it cames with is so bad, basic, not user friendly, terribly buggy, that you loose all the joy having this printer. My advice here would be if you don't plan to put custom firmware on this printer then dont buy it.3. Filament availability and cost? There is quite a few colours for ABS filament which you have to buy from XYZ at much higher price. Since I was unable to get a good results with it on a larger prints, I was looking to buy some PLA filament. And there is only one colour "Natural" 29,- for 600g Bought it. Came quickly. Was very excited. Fit it in. And couldn't print with it. The printer accepted and recognised it ok but the software on the Mac was giving errors and refused to print. So returning it as faulty. Ordered another one.4. Verdict.I'm going to return it as overall I'm very disappointed with the set up. Also had trouble with the second extruder nozzle scraping the print even when calibration is done. LAck of filament choice. No straight forward customer support. Need to hack it to make it decent machine.Hope this helps.

Problems with the Duo
I first ordered the XYZprinting Junior and was totally delighted with it so much so I decided to upgrade to the Duo, (big mistake) the first one I ordered didn't turn up so a replacement was ordered, that did turn up so I started to set it up.This proved to be a nightmare it took a whole day to calibrate the print bed then the 2nd extruder got blocked and I couldn't get it to clear, have to say I never had this problem with the Junior that worked straight out the box.I would have thought the difference between £275 for the Junior and £556 for the Duo would have given me a far better product but it hasn't it's a lot worse. If your thinking of getting one your I would say the Junior is a much better product over all, the quality of prints are amazing and flawless.Unless you have unlimited time to mess about tweaking the Duo for results that are worse then the cheaper Junior then go for it, but I wouldn't bother
