To clarify the variable reviews.1. Yes ... they do whistle BUT it is dependant on the speed you throw at & the spin on the ball. (Not a whistle like a Police Whistle as the material is NOT rigid BUT Rubber !!!)2. Of course, they do not float ... there is a big hole through the middle :)3. Blue is the best colour for your 'dog' to see it. Shows up well against Grass/Sand/etc for the 'human chucker' :)4. FYI: The folding Chuckit launcher comes with a 'Whistler Ball'. So it makes the launcher better value, if you need a 'folding launcher'.Worth it as they are durable/bouncy and the noise helps your dog to follow it.I have a dog that chews Tennis balls to shreds in minutes, Chuckit rubber balls are much more durable BUT very agressive chewers with strong jaws will eventually break anything !!!So far after 3 months of Daily chewing/chasing/chucking the ball is fine, with no damage.Of course, the non-whistler rubber Chuckit balls will be more durable as there is NO hole to attack in the ball.Happy with the purchase, my dog is even happier !!! :)

These balls will not float as they have holes in them and weren't advertised as floatable! They are extremely durable. My staffy loves them and I bought a paddling pool for the hot weather and throw them in and hes happy out. Im unable to comment on the product whistling however this wasn't the reason for the purchase. Marked down 1 star solely on the colour of the "orange" ball. This is more apricot in colour but apparently its my dogs favourite 😍 would recommend!
