Works great. Germinated in about 1 week.
Works great. Planted in 90 degree weather and no issues. I think the key was having an automatic sprinkler that went off every hour for 2 minutes. It kept the ground moist, but no standing water. Had bought this same product a few years ago and had no success. But, I was new to caring for grass and didn't realize how much water is needed. I suspect the majority of negative reviews comes from lack of watering. It says it will cover 8,000 sqft and I suspect that is accurate. I overseeded as I'm new to growing seed and had low confidence, but it looks like a waste now. Grass is coming in really thick. Which seems like overkill for Bermuda as it seems to spread easily on it's own. Not as important as watering, but I suspect another issue is people aren't tilling the ground enough. I don't know this for sure, but suspect the small plants would have trouble with roots if the ground is tight. I tilled it with a pick axe (ton of work) and then raked it smooth. After the ground was lose and smoothed out, then put the seed down and very gently took a leaf rack (yard broom) to help nudge the seed into a slight bit of soil. Only hard part was tilling the earth. A tiller is a really good idea for this if you don't need the exercise.

Really Works!
I have had a bald spot in my front lawn area by my porch forever. I figured it was from people walking on it continually so I put up a small fence around the sidewalk area to encourage people to go around. I planted some grass seed and fertilizer and watered it as recommended and nothing! I think I tried 2 different seeds and various fertilizers over a couple months but still no luck. I decided to give this one a try because it says it’s for southern lawns and can withstand heat. It has been about a week and bam! I have grass. I finally have grass! This seed works and I’m so happy! I think I missed a few spots so I’ll add more but no more bald grass spots.

It grew here in Florida
I didn't count the germination rate. I just wanted to get some new grass under the area where the trailer was at and to patch a few brown spots. It was just a 1lb. bag but it covered what I needed. That was a few weeks ago and it mostly cam up. I'd say the growth rate was ok, but not super fast; just ok. I', not disappointed but also not overly thrilled either; thus barely 4 stars.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
What a gross and horrible damage these big companies have done to everything in our environment. These are not grass seeds, they are manufactured fake empty hollow nothings. Spreading green colored tiny chafe does not a true grass lawn make. Don't waste your money or believe the fake videos. Thus is NOT grass seed and nothing will grow without more money for this or for that. Its designed that way, to buy more product just to simply grow grass. THIS IS NOT GRASS. It's weeds!!!!

Does not cover stated square footage
Every single 1 lbs bag claims that it will cover 1000 sq ft. I have a trench that I dug to bury conduit and it measures about 130 ft long and because of disturbance about 2 ft wide. This means overall square footage is 260 square ft. With edge guard Scott's spreader shoots out about 3ft so I was expecting to walk on one side of the trench, turn around and walk back on other side of the trench. Total square footage of doing that should be 780 square feet. Color me amused that in expecting to walk the trench 4 times (ergo buying 4 bags), I very quickly realized that stated square footage is ridiculously overstated. Using 4 bags I barely walked trench 130 ft one way and about 60 ft the other way. This means total seed coverage spread is 570 square feet for 4 1 lbs bags. Bags claim to would have covered 4000 square feet. This means that actual coverage is 7 times less than stated. This means each and every 1 lbs bag actually covers 142 square feet which is a far cry from 1000 square feet stated. And so I just ordered another 4 bags. For those interested on the bag it says to set your dial to 3.5 on the spreader. That seems to be very adequate so you are not wasting seed... it is just not covering what it said it should. Also if this is your first time spreading, do not hold lever when you start moving. Hold lever after you have already moved because the way spreaders are designed is they immediately drop seed so you need to be moving for it to spread, otherwise it will dump a pile of seed in 1 spot. I dropped a very small pile as a test.

It's alive! It's alive!
I live in southern Arizona where the sun scorches you to death in the summertime. These little seeds have started to grow and rather quickly too... About 5-8 days. The grass is super green and thick but I just hope it can stay alive during the scorching heat this summer.

Grows quickly.
We had four large Pine trees removed and were left with a 1500 sq ft area needing Bermuda grass. Too cheap to replace with actual sod, this stuff has worked quite well so far. Used a little top soil and a Corona garden tiller and it looks great! By next year you won't be able to tell the difference between new grass and 25 year old sod.

I have bought Scott’s before, many times. Sometimes it works very well and others not well at all. The Bermuda grass seed (2 bags), I bought, produced not a single blade of grass. Followed instructions as always. Very disappointing considering the expense, time and energy. Nature of the product I think.

After 13 days, good weather and watered daily, not one single seed has germinated on a newly landscaped yard. Local nursery says it's likely been bagged in a warehouse too long just more Amazon warehouse garbage
