Core 1 and 2 for OCR (Cambridge Advanced Level Mathematics for OCR)

As a teacher I found this book easy to read, understand and such a helpful resource. Pupils found the questions were challenging but the approach of steadily increasing complexity was beneficial. They liked the idea of certain questions being annotate as OCR, as seen in many educational text books now to highlight past exam questions. Furthermore, I liked the idea of practice papers for both C1 and C2.On the downside I would consider the order of the Chapters to be revisited as we approach the task of teaching it in a slightly different order. Nevertheless, a first class book.

Overall, very concise and good examples. However I found it a little lacking in depth in a couple places, where a bit more background would have helped understanding. Fine for passing your A-Level, but good to have a bigger backup book incase anything isnt clear or you're unsure. Also a little annoyed by some questions (eg. find theta for a trig function, for a given interval and known constant) where the method isn't given until several pages later. Best to read ahead before taking notes or attempting questions. Overall happy though.

Book was as expected (some scuffs but in usable condition) and is a GREAT help to anyone studying C1 & 2. As practice makes perfect in maths, this book provided a good range of doable and difficult questions.

Great books for learning and well worth the effort of practice.....math is like a new language...practice practice practice and you will get better no matter the complexity. Have fun and goodluck...remember what you find difficult today is easy tomorrow with practice.

Very happy with the product and service. My son finds this very useful for his AS maths school work. The condition was very good.

It's been 6 years since I bought it and I still go back to it every now and again. I guess the curriculum has changed by now.
