Great shaver for short stubbles or beards & moustaches left unshaven for a 1 day or 2. Not very comfortable if used to shave any longer as it seems to pull the hairs out which hurts immensely. Trimmer is okay for sideburns but useless for anything else and those angles in other places... Smooth shave afterwards if you are in a rush but obviously can't beat a razor shave. Can be used with water and foam. Also in the shower so its great if you like a wet shave. I tend to clean it by running it under water after every shave. Don't use the brush on the blade guard or the twirly blades itself as the instructions explicitly say so. Only once you removed those parts you can use the brush on the shaver it self. Quick rinse and left to dry will do the job nicely. Highly recommended.

Quite a revelation to me, that you can now have a shave while in the bath or shower! The shaver works extremely well. I was delighted to find that this model also had the tilting head, only available on considerably more expensive dry-shave models. The rubber grip is a good feature, too, and gives confidence that you won't drop it. On a practical note, I found using it under a shower doesn't work for me. For a start you are wasting a whole load of hot water. And the effect of water on the face is to remove the natural skin oil which allows the shaver to glide easily. Try it after you have used soap and it just sticks against the skin.My formula is use it in the bath before using soap. I wet my face well with warm bath water and the shave is as smooth as silk. It's a remarkably close shave, too. I was surprised as I have a heavy growth. And my partner will confirm! A friend has recommended trying a shaving oil, which I intend to do. This may help in some situations. Being able to just rinse it out under a tap is also a boon. It actually does clear the head and cutters. Leaving to dry out for a few hours is no hardship. And I think not touching the cutters with the nylon cleaning brush probably does prolong the cutting edges. So it's a double benefit.Sorry to give only 4 stars. But I have to say that the price you pay for a close shave is a thin foil. You need to take great care of it. The shaver arrived with a slight dent in the foil. A hole soon appeared, but Amazon replaced it immediately. I think the new one arrived within 36hrs. Incredible service.I think the whole package would be improved by a carrying case, at least for the shaver itself. The foil guard does not attach too strongly. So I will be extra careful when packing for a trip.But, overall extremely good value so far......!

For years I have always used multi blade razors for a close shave but cut myself too frequently, I changed to an expensive philips wet/dry rotary razor but was always left with a rough finish that gave me a five o'clock shadow around noon! I have fair skin but suffer with heavy stubble.The Braun on a dry shave matches the razor and leaves me smooth and stubble free finish for most of the day, though the skin is left very dry, a bit of aftershave balm works wonders here, using shaving oil would be better but it has always given me spots! Using the Braun wet improves the shave experience but the cut leaves the same smoothness with no stubble.Excellent value, build quality appears to good, charge time is pretty quick.Very satisfied.

Didn't seem to take to my skin too well.Seemed quite erratic and often left a bit of a rash.Found it must easier to use a disposable razor rather than this.A waste of money to be truthful.

I've been wet shaving for over 20 years now, and last tried an electric shaver about 10 years ago. That one was a Panasonic and it was horrendous: it ripped my face to shreds and gave a terrible shave. So I have been meaning to check if the technology has come on much in recent years. Hence, I bought this item over Xmas.I should point out that I do have very sensitive skin and that I was most interested in using this shaver in "dry" mode, to save me the hassle of wet shaving.Now, if you are expecting to get as close a shave from this dry as a wet shave with a blade, then think again. It's not a bad shave by any means, especially if you use it in conjunction with a shave oil. But it's simply not as good as a wet shave with a blade.I also still experienced quite a lot of irritation after shaving, particularly around the neck area, which is also the area that the shaver struggled with the most. It took a lot of aftershave balm to calm my skin down.If you don't suffer from sensitive skin, and you don't need the closest shave possible, then this shaver should suit perfectly. It's reasonably priced, looks and feels good and is simple to use. For me, it just wasn't quite good enough, so I sent it back. Maybe I'll try again in a few years!

I have always wet shaved but make the occasional foray into electric shaver territory to try to relieve the tedium. Unfortunately, I have never really got on with electric shavers, until I stumbled across this item.I use it with Nivea cooling gel for sensitive skin, same as my wet shaving, and to say that I am impressed would be an understatement. Having used it for only the second time this morning and with a bit more care and patience than I did yesterday, I am sitting here fondling my face to try to find fault with the shave and I genuinely cannot tell the difference between the electric shave and the wet shave.No nicks, no irritation, just a clean, close shave.I am very impressed with it.

Great razor, unfortunately supplied to me here in the UK with a Continental Cord Set. Not safe! - I have contacted the Amazon help desk who informed me that it is supplied with a two bathroom plug, but this is not correct, the plug is actually a full sized continental Schuko plug which requires a Schuko connector in order for the plug to remain stable.
