It is not cotton at all. It is a plastic material. Like polyester. The pockets are sewn so that they can never be closed. The two row of buttons which would normally be used both to secure the jacket closed, are really just one functional row and the other row of buttons are just for display and don't actually do anything as they can't because they are sewn on the outside of the outter part of jacket when closed. All around bad but was only 50 bucks.

NOT 100% COTTON, cheaply made
This jacket is very poor quality and is not made of any amount of cotton, I did a burn test on a piece of the fabric that fell off of a buttonhole, and it melted, cotton doesn't melt.
