Can the mounting brackets be removed to inset into the tile and grouted with no holes left in the glass?

Yes, The side mounts are just clamps and have no holes in the glass. The round barrier mounting hardware is 1.125 away from the edge of the glass giving plenty of material of glass to be inside the tile wall. Mounting inside the wall is actual a better mounting system since the two clamps supplied are completely insufficient to adequately hold the shelf. If you wish to use the mounting brackets you need to purchase two more brackets separately but this puts the price higher than the other solutions that are actually better mounting systems.

Shelf is not stable with just two brackets. needs one more near corner or it wobbles. where can i buy more brackets? (i have three of these shelves

Check at Home Depot. When I was looking for a shelf like this they had some glass shelves and the brackets were sold separately. Just depends on your glass thickness and location of the shelves as the brackets can be somewhat large if space is a concern. Look up online first. Hope this helps. Maybe you can go back to the manufacturer and buy additional brackets. Maybe. Look for an 800 # with the paperwork.

What size are the bracket screws? We bought the shelf but lost the screws, so i need to find exact size that fits
