By far the best
As a tech enthusiast, having tried Blink, Arlo, Lorex and even Tuya camera systems, I wanted to try the S380Home base 3 as many fellow tech bloggers had something noteworthy to mention about it.The home base 3 is cute and has a sturdy build.I got the S380 Home base3 with s220 video doorbell. Adding homebase to app was a breeze. Pairing the video door bell to home base was just a few clicks and flawless.Recorded video’s were of very high quality. Unlike many others who provide local storage, Eufy home base3 stored video’s can be remotely viewed without buffering or loading delays which I thought was amazing. The homebase 3 works with Ethernet (recommended) but once paired, if Ethernet connection fails, device will automatically switch to WIFI!What is even more amazing is Eufy Homebase 3’s Ai functionality. It’s truly Ai! Its human identification is near perfect and am yet to find a wrong identification. What is even more remarkable is that it has a built in Ai learning algorithms and it keeps asking the user to verify if it detected the humans correctly thereby fine tuning its Ai capability. The app also has built in video search history based on identified persons which is a very helpful feature. For example, if i want to know how many times ‘xyc’ was detected to my camera, the app will provide a detailed history with related videos. Very important feature.I would have liked if eufy human detection could trigger an push notification or an action to Alexa or google if a known (identfied) person of choice or family member is detected. This is not difficult for eufy engineers to achieve considering the advanced Ai detection that is already incorporated to home base3. Its just that this kind of notifications or automatic responses can be activated, the advantage will be un measurable!!Eufy cameras responds to Amazon Alexa and Google home commands very well. Response time to load a video is also good. However, an important feature, motion alerts on Amazon Alexa and google home is not working. Alexa app shows a tab for motion alerts but it seems eufy servers don't push these alerts to amazon and google. This is a major flaw on eufy’s part which I hope they will correct very soon. The upgrade to additional storage was very easy and a breeze to format and get the ssd to start recording.Overall, it’s a very good product although a little costly but still a worthwhile long term investment.I am planning on getting down the eufy e340 wired flood light camera which allows 24x7 recording of which I will write a separate review once done.I will continue to update this review with new developments.

Reliable and high performing
I replaced a Ring video doorbell that was on a new property with a Eufy HomeBase S380 and Eufy dual camera video doorbell for 4 reasons: Consistency with my other doorbells, the Ring didn't have local storage, the Ring required a pay-for service to be able to record and re-play history, and because I couldn't get the microphone on the Ring doorbell to function after re-installation and multiple.I installed the newest HomeBase S380 units at one property 2 weeks ago and the previous generation HomeBase at another property over 1 year ago. In both cases I am using Eufy dual camera video doorbells. My high praise is for the combination of these units in serving my needs when I'm home and away. I like the ability to drop-in to monitor activity anytime and to receive rapid notification of doorbell ringing, package delivery, and other motion/activities taking place.Given the face recognition of these devices, my hope is that it will one day be possible to search historical video to find all instances of where a particular person was recorded.

Unreliable product
Bought the unit for a property that is remote so I could store videos, got it installed beyond the 3 month warranty period and the unit failed in less than a week of being in service.Found the cameras disconnected and the HomeBase flashing red, attempted recommended troubleshooting steps with no success. Reached out to Eufy support, after a week of sharing specifics, support came back indicating they could not solve the issue and indicating the product was out of warranty. In the process identified other customers having similar experiences (through a google search)Eufy offered a 15% discount if I bought a new unit.Below is the response (edited) that I provided:There is so much you could do [beyond offering a discount].This isn't just about my individual unit. Finding numerous other customers with the same "red LED" issue and similar "out of warranty, you're out of luck" scenarios clearly points to a widespread reliability problem with your HomeBase products. This isn't just bad luck on my part; it seems to be a recurring product quality defect. My confidence in Eufy's reliability is pretty shakenRegarding the 15% discount, honestly, that doesn't really address the core issue of a brand new (to me) unit failing almost immediately. My priority isn't a discount; it's getting a reliable security system in place and ensuring others don't go through the same hassle.Eufy has a quality problem on its hands, as a result, has a brand trust issue. If there was an interest to improve the product reliability and the customer experience, steps would be taken to identify root cause to then improve the product.Steps that could be taken if there was a genuine interest would be:1) Truly take steps to diagnose this issue, details were requested and details were provided, given the response I received I see no evidence that the technical team took the time to understand the symptoms, let alone provide a solution. I would thing that steps could be taken to take logs or force a firmware update through the USB port if corruption is suspect.2) Offer the opportunity for a device return for analysis. You could send a new HomeBase as an act of goodwill, and arrange for the failed refurbished unit to be returned to Eufy's engineering team for in-depth analysis. This is crucial for forensic examination.3) Identify Other Affected Customers: Proactively search support tickets and community forums (like the ones I provided) for other users reporting similar "red LED" or "bricked" HomeBase 3 issues. Reach out to them to gather similar detailed information and offer to analyze their units.Until then, I see no need to invest more of my hard earned money for another expensive paperweight that could impact my ability to monitor my property if it failed again...

Outstanding product.
It took a while to get it set up the way I wanted so that it worked with both my phone and my iPad. It took them a while and several emails back-and-forth, but they did get it working. They were very persistent, just some frustration on my part because I had to wait for them for emails. The system itself works great now that it’s set up. The video is very clear, and the AI tracking is excellent. I highly recommend this product.

Easy set up and stable operation
Only thing that I missed initially was that this will only accept 8 wireless cameras, since I had 15, I had to buy 2. Otherwise it has worked without an issue and makes reviewing camera input very easy.
