Great product, but needs stirring for even cooking
The hob works well and it’s not as loud as they say. However I noticed you do need to stir the food to cook evenly as some parts heat better than others. so that’s why the 4 stars. Overall happy with it and would recommend

fantastastic electric hob
this is a great hob, our electric oven/hobs broke while we were waiting for the council to refit our kitchen(I'm disabled so I get that for free, spending the extra money was worth it over a cheaper one, it has handy settings, like boil, fry, and stir fr, or you can just put it on fast heat and control the wattage from there, this is my Mum's newfavourite new thing, she has never seen water boil as fast and has zero need to boil the water first in the kettle, she is my main carer, so anything that makes her life easier, the better, worth every penny, there are no hotspots, as previous reviewers have mentioned, according to mum, and she would know, after being in the catering industry for half her life previously, she says that it is brilliant, so that must mean something, con sidering her catering background!

Let down by unnecessarily complicated controls and poor instructions
This looks really smart and modern, but is far larger than it needs to be for a single-ring hob. The instructions focus mostly on safety - which of course is no bad thing - but there's very little about cooking modes, and what you can actually do with it. What instructions there are contradict themselves in places, for example giving you a whole list of materials that are fine as cookware, but later saying you can ONLY use stainless steel. Experience and commonsense suggest that anything you could put on a conventional hob will be alright on this, but not everyone has experience or commonsense, so the instructions really should be unambiguous. It has three cooking modes: BBQ, STEAM and STIR FRY. The difference between these modes is the range of power and timer settings you can select. The power settings are nowhere translated into temperatures. ● BBQ has a power range of 100-2000 W and time up to 180 minutes. ● STEAM has a fixed power of 1600 W (actually listed in the manual as 200-1600 W but immediately contradicted by a note afterwards saying it's NOT variable) and time up to 120 minutes. ● STIR FRY has a power range of 100-2000 W and time up to 180 minutes (Who stir-fries for three hours? It boggles the mind!) Why can't you choose whatever combination of power and time you like, instead of these arbitrary modes? Additionally, the parameters for BBQ and STIR FRY look identical, so why pick one over the other? I wanted to boil a kettle, but that's neither BBQ, Steam nor Stir Fry, so which should I choose? In fact, most everyday cooking operations aren't barbecuing, steaming or stir frying, so what if you want to fry some bacon, or warm some soup? There's no mode called "General", so you have to pick one. The controls are also a poor layout, with the legend for the buttons being closer to the ones below, guiding you towards the wrong ones. It's quite noisy when on. I expected it to be silent, but it has a continuous fan. It also smelt a bit at first. Not terribly, but a "new thing getting hot" smell! The rotating control on the front doubles as both power AND timer setting. It defaults to power setting, until you select the TIMER button, when it becomes the timer setting. The selected time is displayed in hours and minutes. Annoyingly, when you turn the knob to increase or decrease the time, the device emits a shrill beep for every individual minute you pass through, so if you adjust from one hour to two, for example, you'll have an accompanying chorus of sixty beeps. I'm guessing it's a safety feature to make sure you can't alter the time without noticing, but seriously? It takes a very long time to boil a kettle, even at the maximum 2000W. I was frustrated and concerned it didn't appear to switch off when I hit the ON/OFF button, which could be catastrophic in an emergency. I panicked and switched it off at the mains. It turns out it IS switching off, but the fan stays on to cool it down, and the LEDs stay on to remind you it is HOT. I thought the LEDs spelling "HOr" must be prompting me to set the time in hours, but according to the manual, it's meant to say: "HOT". Overall, it gets the job done, but both design and usage instructions could benefit from stricter attention to detail.

So far so good, after reading some of the reviews I took a leap of faith. No, the fan is not loud. Switch between Watts and Fahrenheit by holding the function button for 3 seconds (says so in the manual!) Its also light and compact, has a big power cord, heats up way faster than the demo shows too. Happy-Happy.

Replaced older 2 burner which took forever to heat up enough to cook on. While this one is slightly larger it heats up immediately and let's you know when it cools down. I don't have a proper stove so this sits on my counter top. Am extremely happy with its performance. The controls are convenient and easy to adjust.

It works very well. I had the induction plate but after a few years decided to go back to this type. It is not too fast to heat up or cool off. But it cooks better for me. Fits on my counter. Has some minute sound but not much. If required it has high power. This really covers everything I was looking for.

The unit is huge- it uses a lot of counter space. But- it works, and works excellent- and it gets HOT. When frying, for example, I set it 1 or 2 settings below fry, or things just get too hot. My only concern is that this unit uses a fan, which I'm assuming is to keep the control/ circuit board from getting too hot? It's a bit loud, but it doesn't take from me giving it 5 stars... but I AM concerned about how long the fan will last... but other than that, I really like this hotplate!
