Equalizer // The Complete Season 2

These 3 are killing the acting.
I put off watching this show for years, How can a rapper/ talk show host fill the greatest shoes of 1 of the greatest action-fighting movies of the millennium? Plus, besides Lorraine Toussant and Tory Kittles being the only real actress, the rest were merely more comedians than actors. But I noticed it made another season than another season. So I started watching the season 2 days ago. I knew that The queen could passed so-so as an actress just as a lot of rappers turned movie stars have done. But all of them lack the ability to be emotional. Staring at a camera is hard to do. It ain't easy. But Damn, after binge-watching the entire first season, I gotta say that the Queen is a legitimate actress and the show is spectacular. Een the co-stars are go at delivering the Emotions. When Adam Goldberg delivered his Make-live-again speech (Season-2, epsd-01) I had to rewind and watch it again. He was that good. And Liza Lapira is a wayyyy lot more than eye candy. She has emotion too. Her agent had better be letting the producers know that girl-has-skills too. So Big giant ups to The Queen, Adam, and Liza, they did what all actors are supposed to do when offered a chance to act. They went home, looked in the mirror, and rehearsed their deliveries. And finally, let's not forget about the writers and producers, I lov you guys, keep up the intense storylines and the willingness to tackle some very touchie subjects this day and age. Moe.

Season 2...FINALLY!!!
I am so thrilled that Season 2 is coming out this coming Tuesday (Aug. 26th)! I loved this show back in the mid-'80's when it 1st aired! I watched it every Wednesday night. It ran from '85 to '89, so I was 10 years old when it started & 14 when it ended. Even @ only 10, I was able to appriciate the plots, twists, & was able to see that it was a high-quality show, w/ top-notch acting from Woodward, & everyone else involved! I was also a fan of "The Police" @ a young age, so I loved that Drummer Stewart Copeland scored the series! When Season 1 was released in Feb of 2008, I was overjoyed! It was about time, I thought. But then the years passed & there were no more DVD Sets being put out. I was grateful to own Season 1, but I really wanted the subsequent Seasons, as well! Fast fwd. to earlier this year & I see that it's now a big-screen release starring Denzel Washington as Robert McCall. But the Film is taking some major liberties from the show's premise! In April, I saw here on amazon.com that Season 2 was slated for release this Summer. I thought if the only good that the Film does is get the Sutdios to release the DVD BoxSets for Seasons 2, 3, & 4, then that's great in & of itself! So I Pre-Ordered it & will have it (hopefully) on Tuesday. I chose the shipping that gets it delivered on it's release day. & I'm really looking forward to the last 2 Seasons to be released. This show is classic & I'm happy to see that it still has a following!

Great series
I love this series, and I hope seasons 3 and 4 come out before I die. At the rate the DVDs are coming, maybe not. I find the series admirable for several reason. The stories are generally well written, well acted and have a clear moral center. In other words, it's obvious from the get-go who are the villains and who are the good guys. This is also one of the last television shows to take religious faith seriously and not automatically assume that if you have faith you must either be a hypocrite, a nut case or a moron.Edward Woodward was a curious choice for this role, I think, but he portrays with some skill the character of a man who has killed and done very evil things and is now facing the qualms of conscience he ignored for too long. In facing those qualms he is now seeking redemption, using his particular skill set to help others in crisis. In one of the episodes in the 2nd season someone accuses McCall of not changing at all - he's still killing people, but he can now absolve himself by believing it's for a better reason. This is a fundamental question at the center of the show and that's why I think it is ultimately, not a crime show, but a modern morality play. This is not a profound series philosophizing about right and wrong, but it does take a position about right and wrong and that is very rare in American television post 1970.

No words! This program IS the voice ..
Excellent series and fun! I especially love that they produce current issues and find solutions! The youth are bringing a change and challenging our history of abuse of humanity! It can go deeper and I’d love to see that happen. This could be a catalyst of hope and more rapid change. PLUS, who doesn’t LOVE Queen Latifah!! Maybe, more Black writers and POC writers could step up to open up the conversation & topics everyone is afraid to address!! Now us the TIME!

Very binge worthy
Great series and great cast. As expected, queen Latifah is awesome. The ‘cases’ she works are very relevant and deals with topics we see in the news. A great way to increase awareness of real-life issues.

Great movie!
I really like watching the equalizer, very entertaining no sex scenes, no foul language. I have watch all the equalizer. Denzel Washington as the equalizer, Edward Woodward original equalizer, they all bring their own style to the character, but the Queen add just the right flare to Mccall (Robyn).

Brings back great memories
I remember watching this TV show when it was originally on. It was wonderful to re-watch and I still found it interesting and fun.I like that this show shows the true New York - the good, but also the shadier sides. Of course, many of the buildings are gone or changed and watching the cars of the era makes me cringe, as does that huge cell phone he had back then, which only really worked in your car.Having said that though, I find this show entertaining and the whole thing still stands up today!A few side notes. For the most part, the transfer to DVD is pretty good. At times, the sound fluctuates from one episode to the other but nothing major. Also, the plastic case this comes in broke as I was simply trying to get the plastic wrapping off - not impressed.Nonetheless, the show is great and I am thrilled with this.
