It’s easy! Truly.
I don’t understand the problem people seem to be having with opening this very nifty gadget.Press the silver button, the end of what’s supposed to be a key pops straight up.Then just gently pull the two parts apart.To close, press the button again and flip down the key looking thing.Easy peasyHope this is helpful to those having trouble or are getting frustrated.It really does work very easily and very well.

INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO OPEN.
One less star because the item did not provide instructions on how to open, I had to dig through several videos and reviews to learn: HOLD BOTH ENDS, THEN SPLIT FROM THE THINNER SIDE, NOT FROM THE THICK PART.Great item! Very inconspicuous! Although the capacity may not be that great, it could fit an 8b or couple of Euros. Lol Going to be using these at festivals!

Not difficult to open, but tricky and cheap
It's not hard to open, there's just a specific method but no instructions. Someone else already mentioned it but i'll repeat, basically just flick the key open, grab both ends, and slowly pull as you bend the middle (the key part gives you more leverage and makes it easy). Dont try to pull straight out or pry it open cuz you'll die of frustration. And minus a star cuz its cheaply made, compartment isnt even flat.

This suck
First I got excited because I got two instead of one however it's damn near impossible to open once you close them. I sure wouldn't keep anything you actually need in them. The buttons are all for show they don't actually do anything. Yeah they are a cool concept but these are complete trash don't waste your money !!
