Works fine, price was right, more or less hits the right notes---fun to play with , great for kids. We have a whole mess of small instruments that kids and guests can explore with.

We got this for our son (and so I can play around with it too). I understand a bit what some people are saying with the end notes being flat. But I mean, the tongs are really short to be higher pitch so they're not going to ring out as well as the longer, lower notes. They're also farther from the central hole which is what helps give the nice reverberation. That said, I'm not displeased. It functions as expected and has a pretty nice sound. My only complaint would be that it doesn't have sharps or flats, so you can only play things in the key of C. But it's a beginner instrument, so that isn't totally unreasonable. It also has a beautiful look to it.All in all, I'm impressed with the quality for the price point and we'll have lots of fun with it.

Got this for my daughter as a gift it’s a beautiful instrument that you get. With a real wow factor. It comes with everything you need to start. Sounds great right out of the box no tuning was needed.

This does work it's kind of fun to play around with, more suitable for a child. I gave it to my college aged daughter for her instrument collection. She's polite and says she likes it but she uses her guitar and ukulele all the time versus this ... which is pretty much never. It was packaged beautifully and the concept is cool.

So beautiful! I wish my son would have liked it as much as I did but he wasn’t into it. The sound is very soothing, and it’s so easy to play! Definitely would recommend for a gift!

I bought this as someone who likes to fiddle with music. A trained pianist, playing familiar tunes casually is a hobby and the kalimba is great for that as it's easy to pick up, play, and set down. Admirably, it's harder than I expected but will take some getting used to. This size has more notes than other models which is a plus but I wouldn't quite call this portable, though it can easily be put in a bag. It just does still take a chunk of space up. It seems well constructed and has a nice feel and finish. It came relatively in tune but also had the tuning hammer, as well as some other goodies like sheet music, starter guide, and bag. The thumb things to help twang the tongs don't seem to help much but I could be misusing.

This was a Christmas gift for my son. He'd been asking for one for a long time. It arrived well packaged. It was exactly as described and ready to learn. The only issue was the highest note sounds a little off. Other than that the product was great and he's had a lot of fun with it.
