I’ve used this product for several months now , primarily as a moisturizer after I shave my head. However I also use it after shaving my face and sometimes even when I don’t shave at all. The best part is the scent. The scent is unashamedly masculine. It’s well balanced and lasts long into the day. It moisturizes both my face and scalp (I keep a bald head) very well. My skin dries very easily so this was important for me. Since my skin does dry so easily I do still have to use my daily moisturizer, but I’m sure for that average guy this alone will do the trick. I am fine with the cost, because of the quality of the product and how long it lasts. I shave every other day and this product lasted for couple months (It doesn’t take much to get the job done). A great product and one that will stay in my hygiene routine as long as this company continues to do an outstanding job on it.

So when I first saw this, it seemed a little pricey, but after using it for over a year it is well worth every penny! It smells amazing without being overpowering or obnoxious or old man-ish. It is very creamy and feels great on your freshly shaved face, but not oily or greasy. It dries really fast as well. To top it all off, the canister lasts a really long time - way longer than a bottle of the cheap grocery store brands. I have fallen in love with this shave balm and I don't think I'll ever buy anything else!

This was supposed to be a Christmas present, but without knowing it I opened the package without knowing it (oops); however, I have to say I’m glad I did. My girlfriend is crazy about the scent. She even likes it more than the $50 bottle of “Obsession” by Calvin Klein I often use. It has a nice delightful smell that is pretty masculine without being too overpowering. Very clean and refreshing, definitely cologne-like. Hard to describe but it’s great. Lingers for awhile too. The perfect amount of fragrance in my opinion. I don’t know if I’d recommend it to those who are overly sensitive to smells (they may find it too strong) but my lady and I think it’s perfect. Doesn’t slap you in the face like some after shaves when you put it on either. It is more gentle. Product goes on nicely and absorbs quickly. No razor burn or bumps. Wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the container but I like it a lot, really sets it apart from the other brands out there. The jar is very sturdy. Nice packaging, easy application and it looks nice next to the other products in my shaving toolbox. Happy with the product and happy with the price. I think that probably sums it up on what it is: A gentlemen's after shave. Buy it, you won’t regret it!

Average product. Does the job. No scent, and easy to apply. With razor burn, it does not sooth it. if you have a little oily face, it will leave you oily. It is an average product.

By using the American Shaving Balm for men I can shave every day! I have a very sensitive skin, so much so that I can only shave twice a week because of the burning feeling I get after shaving. I prefer close shaves, thus, must use razor blades. So No matter what kind of “after shaving” product I'd get I could not shave everyday, cause the burning sensation would remain in the “background”. When I was told about the American Shaving Balm for Men, I figured this is another “after shave” product just more expensive; however, I took the risk and went for it. Oh man. I LOVE THIS CREAM. Shaving twice a week is now a choice. This cream is awesome, as soon as you put the cream on your face, you really really feel the difference, it feels smoth and your skin feels fresh through out the day, not just for part of the day, through out the day. You don’t need a lot of cream so it will last you awhile. Even though it is more expensive than your regular after shaving products, it is worth the money. I recommend this product 110%. I have seven cousins and gave to all of them a pinch of this cream, I understand they are now using this product.

I've been using the after-shave balm from American Shaving Co for about a month now and I really enjoy it. It doesn't burn my face or dry it out after my shave. It goes on smooth and leaves a nice fragrance that's not too strong or over-powering. I had originally started using the Sandalwood scent at first, which works great, but my wife isn't a fan on the scent. So, I switched to the original scent and we both agree it smells way better. If you are in the market for a quality balm, this is it. I've used quite a few of the other brands and for the price and quality, I'll be using this from now on. On a side note: Before buying this product, I had submitted a question concerning the scent and feel. It wasn't long before their customer service had sent me a message explaining their product. I bought it and started using it. After a few days, their customer service sent me a message asking if I was happy with their product. I said yes and haven't switched since.
