Way Better than the Chinese garbage brands
This is an excellent product and I 100% recommend it.Before this I’ve had three humidifiers Chinese made ultrasonic cool mist types - I had taotronics, and a couple of unknown names that I bought off Amazon. They were all garbage. Taotronics 4 liter one started leaking water in puddles all over the floor. It was very hard to clean. The other two were 2 liter globe shaped ones - impossible to clean and needed water custom filters. The other thing - they needed frequent refills and cleaning. The worst part - they didn’t humidify. The cool mist technology is basically a failure as it does not distribute moisture over the room. There is no fan to throw the moisture into the air.I decided to go with a known standard home appliance brand instead of junk sellers on Amazon. I just finished replacing the wicking filter for the first time and giving them a clean (I bought 2). Firstly they are very efficient at humidifiying. I have a SensorPush temperature and humidity gauge in all my rooms and looking at the data, it’s clear that these really drive humidity up but I’ll be clear - the humidity level displayed on the LED display of the machine and the overall room humidity won’t match. If the room is at 15%, your humidifier might say 25%. If you set it to reach 50% , the room will end up around 32%. This is way better than the stupid cool mist junk - which never managed to push the room humidity up more than 5% points. Secondly, they are very easy to clean. The base where water rests is completely accessible. The water tank is completely accessible. I also dropped a protec cleaning ball into the tank which prevents any algal / bacteria growth.Lastly, yes it’s noisier than a cool mist because it has a fan that actually distributes the moisture. But the noise is basically like a white noise which doesn’t interfere or disturb at all. In fact it works well if you need white noise for children in a room.

Very Pleased - Works as promised
I purchased this to increase the humidity in a room where I grow and overwinter outdoor plants. I opted for an evaporative humidifier because I knew I would be using regular tap water and I did not want the white dust the ultrasonic humidifiers produce from the minerals in tap water. I also wanted a unit where I could set the desired humidity level and not worry about manually cycling it on and off. Last I wanted a unit with a little bit of style. The unit has a three-speed fan. I use it on the highest setting even though that is the loudest setting. Being a fan, it's a white noise that I can tune out when reading. It's about as loud as our microwave. With the fan set to high the unit cycles on and off more frequently. When set to low it is whisper quiet and runs for a very long time which makes sense since there is less airflow. (Move the unit around to different spots in your room to find the area with the best airflow. Burying it in a corner, behind a door, or under a table isn't the best choice. )The humidistat seems reasonably accurate for a consumer product, about +/- 2% from what I can tell. I have it set for 50% humidity. It cycles on about 3% RH below the set-point and clicks off exactly at the set-point.Depending upon the outside humidity and how long our home furnace runs, I need to refill it every day with about one gallon of water. I found removing the water container an inconvenience. Not because it's difficult to get in and out of the unit, but because it doesn't fit in my sink easily to refill. The design of the humidifier does not allow you to invert a refilling container over the opening. After experimenting with a few different containers I settled on a plastic one-gallon (well rinsed) milk jug. It struck a good balance between quantity, convenience, and ease of pouring. I can get all but two cups poured in one refill.Despite using tap water (no water softener) the wicking filter still lasted for a month before I noticed a decrease in the evaporation efficiency. The tower is large and bulky to clean. I don't clean it as recommended. I do throw a couple of ounces of white vinegar in the water every week to make the internal environment less mold and bacteria friendly. White vinegar is less harsh than bleach. So far. I'm pleased. All it needs to do now is last a few years and I'll be euphoric!

Easy to fill, works well and quiet.
This is the best humidifier I ever bought. Besides that it works well, it so easy to change the filters. Also, I love how easy it is to pull out the reservoir to fill up. Has a nice handle on it and you just pull up and lift out. Has several settings so that you can adjust to your liking and also pretty quiet. I actually don't hear it turn on and off. I have the fan set on medium, so I suppose if it was on high you might here it more. I really like it.
