bought this years ago and works just fine. my ps4 stopped working but to this day holds my games from ps4 on it. dont unplug it until manually disconnecting or you will corrupt your game data

Storage is good, it’s looks good and compact easy to set up. If you disconnect it by accident when you connect it again it’ll take a while to read and it’ll go back to normal.

Great speed very useful and isn't too loud

Have been using for little over a year now for our PlayStation 3 pro as extra storage for digital games. Has worked great. Was easy to install. Opened box plugged into the USB port of the PS4 with the provided cable. Went under settings to storage and clicked to format to the PS4 then under settings and clicked on use external storage so now our games automatically download to the external memory instead of using the PS4 memory storage. We always had to delete digital games then redownload when wanting to play the games that take up so much memory (fortnite takes up ALOT of memory with their constant updates). We have a lot of power surges where we live and this always fixes itself when the power clicks off. Hasn’t caused any issues with this memory device with all our power surges. Has worked great. Buying a second now for my sons PS4. Would recommend.

I love that it does work and opened space on my ps4. However, fyi it can not by plugged into a usb expansion plug...must be direct plug in. So be prepared in case your headphones, controllers and other plug ins wont plug in either. Depending on the particular brand, item etc...You may be plugging and unplugging to use the direct ps4 USB for them as well if you are planning on a usb expansion to use this. Also, it does cause interference with bluetooth connections. My controllers were disconnecting suddenly, as well as headphones going in and out. I put the game drive into a wooden jewelry box and moved it so that it was as far away from ps4 as possible to create a barrier and it did help! So if you run into this issue just create a barrier between the devices. So far it works great and worth it to not have to upgrade internal drive right now👍

I bought this in 2019, it is now January 2025.I have another ps4 that is now the family one, it's low on storage. I decided I'll get another one, for no reason I started looking at some low reviews. I decided to write a review myself.I have used this hardrive since 2019. Started on my PS4 pro and then I got a PS5 needless to say I simply unplugged it from the PS4 and plugged it into the PS5. The hardrive without missing a beat had all my games I had stored from PS4 ready to play. This has been great, it's important to me since I still don't have fast internet therfore I keep any game I downloaded saved so I don't have to wait hours to re-download something I want to play again.

I use it as a normal storage device. It doesn't take up a lot of space, and has been reliable so far.
