Versatile, feature laden sealer
I have long time experience using nozzle type vacuum sealers. Its the only type I will use. True chamber sealers are too expensive and bulky. Typical counter top sealers require textured bags that get expensive. After many years, my previous nozzle type unit was becoming somewhat inconsistent. I decided time to replace it. So, after considerable research (my wife says I spend too much time researching) I replaced it with this unit. 100% satisfied. Why this unit? First, versatility - it can vacuum seal virtually any type bag - textured, flat chamber, and mylar. Second. it has automatic control and manual control. Third, excellent build quality. Fourth, price was reasonable given it's capabilities. The biggest reason to buy a nozzle vacuum sealer is the ability to utilize flat chamber vacuum bags. When purchased in quantity they can cost a third or more less than the commonly sold textured bags used by most counter top sealers. Having the ability to also use textured bags though makes this model maybe the most versatile sealer you can buy, If I run out of the cheaper flat bags I can go to Target and pick up a small supply of textured bags while I wait for my bulk order of the chamber bags to arrive. Win, win. I like the ability to set both the vacuum time and the seal time. Regarding the seal, the unit has an extra wide sealer element which results in an excellent seal, comparable to that on commercial sealers. No need to do double seals as some units recommend. The unit has a handy built in bag cutter that makes it easy to resize bags without hunting down a pair of scissors. It also has the capability to inflate bags, though I have never used it and am not sure if I will. What could they do to make it better? Two things. First, provide an actual on/off switch. Plugging and unplugging is the only way to power and shut off the unit. Second, a simple cord storage/management solution. The cord needs to be manually looped and tied with a wire tie or something similar for efficient storage. Having a way to wind the cord around a couple of posts on the back would make it a bit less bulky to store on the shelf. All in all 100% two thumbs up. A final thought. The manufacturer refers to using textured bags on this unit as the "chamber mode" to distinguish it from the nozzle mode. This should not be confused with the term "chamber" as applied to true chamber sealers that only use flat, non textured bags. On this unit, it is the nozzle mode that uses the flat chamber bags, same as true chamber vacuum sealers, and the chamber mode uses the textured bags like those used by Food Savers. In any case, this unit can do both modes and they both work really great.

Great for Mylar Bags and Great Customer Service
Update to original review: There was a issue with the sealer sucking up the the vacuum bags and I had to pull it away from the top part of the sealer. I called the manufacturer and he promptly told me he was sending me a new machine, and he did. This is customer service I appreciate. I did send him a video of the problem. I use this machine quite a bit and it's a workhorse. I highly recommend this vacuum sealer and know the product manufacturer will live by their warranty. Original review: Where do I start? Ok this vacuum sealer checked all the boxes of what I wanted. I chose this one in particular because it seals Mylar bags. There is a larger version of this machine, but for me my bags are not longer than 12 inches. It can also vacuum canning jars, but you have to buy the attachments for large/small mouth jars. It marinated taking the air out of the plastic bag and seals the bag with no mess because it has a suction tube that will catch what comes out. Now, let's talk about sealing Mylar Bags, there is a small plastic piece that comes out to vacuum as much or as little as you like which I use for freeze dried foods that need extra heat for sealing. There are a couple other freeze dryer's that are more expensive and doesn't always fit larger bags for large roasts or foods like that and you might have a mess after it's done vacuuming and sealing. It's a very good machine. No mess with this vacuum sealer.

Works Wonderful Continuously
This is a wider size machine sealer with multiple options. You have the option of using smooth and texture bags (like FoodSaver bags). You can continuously use this machine for doing large scale storage with Mylar bags or freezer bags as the unit keeps itself cooled down. My Mylar bags are 7 - 8 mil. It seals up to 12" (gallon size) bags. You can seal mason jars and canisters (or bags) for marinating meat. The machine also has an option to put air into a bag to keep from crushing the food (such as home made potato chips). I found when releasing the seal bar, press slightly on the corner, then press the side button and it will release promptly. I really do like the option of using any type of bags. If you have the space for this machine, it is an excellent choice. Their customer service is friendly and will work with you.

Good for those that freeze dry or do large batches
More complicated than a food saver but can seal smooth bags and Mylar which can be very helpful. There is a learning curve and it will take a bit of practice to learn to use. Great product for people that are sealing stuff in large batches, or freeze drying.

Experiment with the settings.
The only two flaws are: 1. You really have to treat it like a MAN. LOL 2. The lack of an on off switch. Not a biggie you can buy one. EXCELLENT sealer. Zip lock? Set it to 3 0r 4 Mylar bags? Set it to max. Seals it all and the seal is over twice as thick at 8mm. Very good device!

For both embossed bags and smooth bags
It does the job! It can seal both embossed bags and smooth bags, but be careful it will be in different mode. Also a little tricky is that you need to push down on both ends of the lid and then press the release button to life the lid up after finish the procedure so please keep that in mind. I was so nervous that I thought I broke the machine with misuse so I called the customer service and they helped me solve the problem within seconds! Overall the machine is easy to use, just please please please read the manual carefully.

Best sealer, best customer support.
Picked this up for use with mylar bags, thing hasn't skipped a beat once with sealing at least 100 mylar bags for mre/ back packing meals. It does an insane job of vacuuming down and sealing mylar and normal bags. Less air with oxygen absorbers the better in my opinion. Unfortunately first use on embossed ( food saver style bags) the unit would not release vacume. One left message to support and within 5min I had a call back to troubleshoot issue along with getting issue fixed and taken care of. Cant beat that kind of support in today's day and age. Highly recommend for product functionality and support.

Do no buy - It will work one time, and then it's a $200+ paper weight.
I was impressed with this vacuum sealer at first because it sealed both regular and flat Mylar bags perfectly. But the second time I used it, it just stopped working. Even though it made noise like it was still working, the vacuum part didn't do its job. I hadn't touched it since the first time; I just left it on the shelf for two months until I needed it again to freeze some meat. I was really disappointed; a $200+ appliance should last longer than that. I contacted Amazon to return it, even though it was past the standard return time (I bought it 3 months ago and used it one time successfully). They proposed a "partial" refund, and I accepted it, recognizing that a partial refund is better than none.
