Very useful tool to learn 3 letter words
My daughter loves to make these words using this game. It’s quite useful when they are learning how to read or form words.

Okay
This is a great activity, engaging game for kids. However it didn’t have clear instructions to assemble l. None the less my boys came up with a solution and used it as best as they could. They did enjoy playing with it

Great for emerging readers
My son is 5 years old and does not know how to read yet, but has expressed an interest in learning to read this summer. Something about this set hit the right note with him because he has really enjoyed making words and talking about letter sounds. So far we have found 2 ways to use the set:1. As shown in the product pictures, we choose a picture card and he sounds out the word and looks for the letters that make the word.2. We put up the letters for a word and give him 3 cards that could be the word. For example, we put up the letters CAT and give him the picture cards for Cat, Can, and Cap. He will then determine what picture matches the word we chose. (We found that if the first letters of the pictures were different it was too easy for him)The only issue we have noted is that the d and the p cards are exactly the same, as are the d and the q, which can cause my son a few moments of confusion. We solve this by laying out the letter cards first in 26 stacks. We also keep the picture cards in number order because there is a reference sheet that lists all the pictures and is extremely helpful when looking for a specific picture.Overall we really like this set and look forward to figuring out even more ways to use it as his reading progresses.

Great blending & word building tool
The media could not be loaded. Overall, this is a great tool for the price in assisting kids to learn how to blend and read. All letter and word cards come in perforated sheets to tear out. It was pretty easy to tear out, with only a few that didn’t come out quite as nicely. But we’re fine with scissors. The cards are decent, but I laminated mine so they would last longer. It comes with 2 cards for each letter. They are one-sided and Color coded by red vowels and blue consonants. All picture cards are 2 sided and all are 3 letter cvc words. A few are green bordered and most are red. There didn’t seem to be any reason why some were green as they were all cvc words with varying vowels. I wish all photo cards were green bordered and kept the red for vowels only. The teachers activity guide was helpful as it listed the number of each picture and the word that corresponds to it. The image for “fat” of an overweight lady I would not use, but all other pictures seemed okay. The b,d,p,q, were all very similar in font, which could be tricky for some learners. But the font was legible. The pocket chart can be unvelcroed to lie flat. You can also unvelcro the pocket to remove it or turn it around.I will use this with my k-1 students to practice blending drills.Great product! Could just use a few tweaks.

Great for a preschooler / early elementary student
I got these to work on early literacy skills with my child. For family use, the cards will last for a good amount of time. It is great that the vowels and consonants are different colors to help teach these concepts. It is an excellent way to practice reading CVC and CVCe words as well as to practice spelling and sight words.

Questionable Content
A distressed woman struggling to measure her waist is not the image I want ingrained in my three-year-old's mind for the word "fat."
