The Utopia sharpening rod is very nice and it does it's job very well. I believe every kitchen should have this sharpening rod so that you don't have to keep repurchasing knives when they go dull. This rod will get your knives very sharp. It's a great design, good weight to it, and for it to be such a high quality item. it is priced very well. I think it would make a great gift too.

I have been without a sharpener for a few months. As our grown tomatoes began to ripen I realized how important a sharp knife is in making tomato sandwiches. This knife sharpener quickly brought our neglected blades back into precision tools. I can feel each stroke of the knife on the sharpener shape the blade into a sharp edge. This tool is long, and heavy. It has a hanging hook which provides storage options. Once you start sharpening your knives you’ll wonder how you ever did without it. 2 month of home kitchen use and working great.

I have used it only once, but it worked very well. It's sturdy when you hold it and it has good length. I held it at various angles and found that a lower angle worked very well. The knife was very sharp in less than a minute.

You don't need to spend $30-$40 to get a good quality honing rod. This 12 inch steel is a great choice for a great price. I love the length of it for my large chef knives and it's hefty too which I like. I honed all 15 of my chef knives with this right when I got it and it works really well. The knives glide over the rod surface without catching and left my knives sharper than ever. This is truly one of the better honing rods for sale on Amazon and I own several including one made by Wusthof. I plan on purchasing at least one more before they realize how underpriced this honing rod really is.

Brilliant item…material at handle is weighted well with the actual honing metal. The metal is ground perfectly and makes a quick sharpening before every use quick, efficient and safe. Easy to clean with a quick rinse.

Cheap and more than adequate size. I'm glad I went with this length for my 8" chef knife. I am an avid home cook and I use it multiple times a week to maintain the edge between sharpens.
